NEW JOB: Ex-Airline Pilot Wanted 11/10/2005
If you are an early retired airline pilot who is looking to fly corporate we have a excellent opportunity for you. We are looking for a Challenger 604 Co-Captain. You must be willing to pay for your type rating. Job closes on 11/15/2005

Must have 7000 TT and at least 3000 turbine.

Base Salary of $80,000 plus benefits.

I’d be will to bet that type rating will cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of 30k, at least!

First $80K is low pay. Second if someone can fly a 604 they can type the pilot.

What next? Do you have to pay for recurrent?

Buy a BMW instead.

Anybody thinking of going for this type of foolishness should have their head examined.

If your employer is looking to save money by you providing your own training, ask yourself: "What other areas are they going to be pinching pennies in?" Just as important to consider is what sort of a culture will you be involving yourself in? In my experience, they will cut corners on MX, push you to do all sorts of stupid stuff in the name of gettin er' done and pencil whip various training requirements; the list goes on and on.

One of those operators that no doubt has one of those "Whatever it takes!" signs hanging in the office.

What if they made you spend 80K for college and had a fleet of 727's, Airbus and three holer wide bodies and a starting pay of one third that?
