What is the latest with the 747-400's ? I hear that Boeing is going to award EVIA with the LCF contract (modified 747-400 to carry the 787 fuselage sections)

Any other latest rumors/news/hiring/furloughing?

looks like we got the LCF contract with cargolux. We are setting up the 400 training program now and hiring like mad. The offical word has not came down from the top....but the source is good. We have more classics comin and we are parking the 100s. Things are looking up! FOR NOW

Heard you guys got the Boeing contract to fly the 787's subassemblies in 747-400LCF's..............Congrates Evergreen!

I was there from 88 to91 and never heard the spook story.
On the 747 we had guys coming over from the 727s so the story should have leaked really fast.

Why is it called the Zone?
Think twillight.

Del must be getting up there in years, who is going to take over the place when he is gone?

Anyone have a link to this information?

Good luck!

The guys over at Evergreen deserve to get it!

Last I heard, it was between Evergreen and Atlas. Atlas probably would be unable to keep the contract because their reliability is so bad. They are also about to lose a fair amount of their AMC flying for next year due to their inability to maintain an ontime airline.

Boeing wanted Atlas "Hands Down". But the business oriented folks at Evergreen were quicker on the draw. Congrates Evergreen!:D

For those that are not that quick on the draw. With the crappy pay and work rules at Evergreen Boeing could in no way turn down there low ball offer. Sorry Dart your drinkin waayyyy to much of that "Evergreen-Aid". Things will get better there I'm sure but you better pack a hardy lunch and be in it for the long haul. Can you say "Bottom Feeder" Cmon be a man dont kid yourself. Do have fun with the Guppy though.

Voice of Reason perhaps??????

Remember ... Del is a publicly sanctioned criminal.

Thanks for the info! I know the pay sucks and it prolly will for a long time. You guys who bash EZ are cool with me...To each his own. I will keep my chin up!

We called Maranna the Ever Zone -- aircraft went there and just disappeared into a dark hole called the Evergreen Maintenance Department.

Del will run the classics until they run totally out of time and then run them as fire bombers

Sorry but the 74 stuipidtanker, oops... supertaker is already a flop. The feds barely have the budget to keep seats and the existing contract planes flying. Good luck coming up with 20,000$/hr and 50 grand a day in availabliity. You will never.....never see a fleet of 74 tankers dropping mud on fires.

I agree...the tanker has something like 118,000 hours on it! It is already back to cargo ops......and lots of DMI's

They are hiring FOs and PFEs.
12 aircraft right now, maybe some more soon. Right now they plan on hiring until the end of the year and maybe more.
QOL: 16 day on, JFK base, if you are on reserve they pay for hotel and perdiem in JFK.
Medical, Dental, 401K with company match and Pension plan.
Starting FO: 3416 per month plus perdiem ($30 perday US $48 international).

Ok question for all guys who flame Evergreen's payscales

Why are you so down on EVIA pay? Seems to me it is better than Kallitta, Tradewinds, Southern Air, and Focus?

I see right now it is $53 an hour with a 65 hour guar. $2 perdiem. No crashpad needed etc. I also hear that the Union at EVIA wants a 38% pay increase, of course that probably will not happen. I do know that they want to reduce the 30 year payscale down to a 15 year or so.

Just looking at the pay scales myself, you are ok with a 10 year 747 Capt making 90K a year? Oh yeah, plus per diem. I guess maybe it beats Kalitta, if that is saying anything. I hope they get the 38% increase, it is much needed. The work you pretty hard over there...

I am furloughed from a Legacy and don't plan on sticking around that long, I will have to bypass my recall and I go back at 90K a year so I really do not think EVIA is the place for me. I can fly the 747-400 in the future anyway. (If UAL keeps them)

But Kalitta is 40 bucks and hour with a 60 hour guar. I guess I am numb to the low pay that the supplementals have, you see with United on my resume it is hard to get a cushy "Netjet" gig. Just the way it is, I am not bitter about that.

Not bashing anyone by any means, hope it didn't come across that way. If you are looking for a temporary gig then I think EIA beats any of the others in the same grouping. Definitely an adventure for a while, and a lot of good guys over there. Are they cool with furloughees keeping their # when they start? I guess that is why you were saying you were not able to get the "cushy netjet gig?" (Not so sure about the cushy part, but an ok gig for me.)

Nope don't have to resign, but they want a 24 month handshake, and I am a man of my word so I need to think it over, I have a UAL recall in my pocket. It is tough on some of us with the Legacy "diploma" on the resume, many companies will not touch ya. Of course if a company would pay a decent wage they wouldn't have to worry about anyone leaving...kinda novel idea huh?

I know you were not bashing, but most people on these boards like to drop pipe bombs and have no idea what the reality is really like for some of us. I think EVIA has a pretty good QOL compared some of the others but that is not saying much. Too many pilots on the street willing to do the job for peanuts...but I digress.
