Is an A&P certificate a hard core requirement for an Evergreen 747 FE position? Has any exceptions ever been made that anyone is aware of?

You need an A+P because there are quite a few places we go to where there is no maint and the FE does it.

I take it you fly for Evergreen?

I worked as an intern at Evergreen last summer, 2005, in the crew scheduling department.

So do I know you ?

No. I am a newbie. You coming back to fly?

I'm just a private pilot working on his instrument rating :)

Who knows, maybe in the future, maybe I might.

But first, I gotta start off with a regional.

Can anyone advise the minimuns for EIA? Thanks.

In the neighborhood of:

4000 TT

1000 Turbine (jet or turboprop) PIC OR SIC

1000 Multi engine (any turboprop or piston) hours PIC

ATP, 1st class medical.

Some exceptions made, for example, a pilot may have 3000 TT, but is a military pilot with 2500 hours PIC in a high performance single engine jet.
Other exceptions are for internal company employees, but even then, still need an ATP at the minimum and at least 1500 hours.

Hope that helps.
