This question is primarily directed to DL crews who operate the flights between Europe and JFK. I'm looking to non-rev from either PRG or BUD to JFK. Right now, these flights have a "few open seats" according to the DL phone reservations agent. My question is, are these flights usually weight restricted like they are coming out of South America?

No, the load optimizing is usually due to a lot of cargo. I left GRU last winter with over 60 empty seats and no non revs got on because we had over 30k in cargo on board and had to wait at the end of the runway to burn below mtow. I don't see that problem unless you go to the Mid East, Africa or SA. BTW, the 75's and i know this is not your case, but they can't carry the cargo an 76 does.

The only place I've seen load optimization lately is SVO. I haven't done PRG but I've never seen it on BUD.
