First and foremost, they ask you in the interview how to spell Emirates. If you miss that, you are quickly escorted under guard to the airport and sent home.
Living Conditions and QOL: I live in a company provided apartment and my expectations were exceeded, but remember that you screw up in your job and get dismissed, you are literally out on the street. I don't know about Dubai as I live in Abu Dhabi (about 40 miles apart) but I am very comfortable here and I can get everything that I need. It's like living in a clean, safe, upscale South Florida area. There are many times I don't even feel like I am in a foreign country.
For other takes on this, have your friend read the Middle East forums at pprune.org, read my blog (the url is below my signature), or PM me. There is too much material to relate here.
Howzit going, flyjumpseat!!!
Now what did I do with that beer, dammit?
You mean there are rockets splitting your gray hair and RPGs chasing you down the street in Florida?? I know how to spell Emuhrits. It's like spelling your and you're and using them kirektlee.
