A question for EJA pilots. I am curious what take home pay average is for new hires,

.plan 35k as a safe number. there are lots of variables involved - how much did you fly (overtime and per-diem), how much did you sit standby at home (no overtime/per diem), did you bid capt, did someone junior to you bid capt, etc.

how long from start of ground school to the first paycheck

first paycheck should come within 2 weeks - depends on when you start in the pay cycle, but shouldn't be more than 2 weeks

and how does the gateway program work

during training, all pilots are based cmh. after training, you tell eja what gateway you want to use (no bidding). when you start duty (0001 your first duty day) you are required to be within 100 miles or 3 hours drive time of your gateway
