If you are stayin in the Hamptons, there are a ton of bars and clubs in the area with lots and lots of gorgeous women. I'd recommend Tavern in East Hampton, The DriftInn in East Quogue, The world famous Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays, etc...the list goes on and on. Take a taxi...it's worth it. If going out isn't your thing...there are many great restaurants in town (HTO) and also in Sag Harbor. As jagmagic mentioned, tons of golf courses, but don't be surprised if you have to pay some decent bucks for a weekend round if you get a tee time. All the other suggestions made by everyone else are great also.
Not sure who the rude guy is at the airport; but let's not turn this thing into a North vs. South battle. Rude people exist in the South, too.
