E170 mins at CHQ

Does anyone know what the minimums are to get the E170 at CHQ.

I'm not 100 % sure, but I believe it is ATP minima. I'm sure someone at CHQ will chime in.

Come on you cannot compare Colgan to CHQ. 1900 pay is $20 with no per diem, no contract, no nothing. CHQ isnt the greatest but its not Colgan.

Well said. Our 190 captain rates actually top out higher than Jet Blues if you compare the pay scales. I'll answer another question because I know someone will ask that next: Do I think they should be flown at a regional level? He11 no but unfortunately it's going to happen.

I think a lot of it has to do with prior 121 experience also. Everyone in my 170 class had previous 121 time.

The CHQ Captain rates are about industry average. The FO rates are all the same. When the contract was negotiated, growth was rapid. The FO's at the time are all Captains now (or can hold captain). They tried to improve other parts of the contract.

I think in the next contract, as growth slows down, we will see a better FO pay scale. Remember in the last contract CHQ had to defeat the company wanting to start alter-ego airlines to outsource flying.

I'm not trying to defend Colgan, but please tell me what in your contract is so great that, in your opinion, justifies a mere $2/hr difference between someone flying 19 passengers and someone with 70+. Great duty rigs and trip rigs, duty times less than that mandated by the FAA?

Seriously, I'm curious. The one very good work rule about CHQ that I have heard is that vacation and sick time all come from the same bank. That's a great deal for people that rarely call in sick.

We have yet to get any aircraft for Republic Airlines, our US Airways ops. The 170's are coming from Mid-Atlantic seemingly under the J4J agreement but ALPA is still arguing the can of worms for US pilots. The rumor mill is that potential bases will be PIT, PHL and I think DCA (don't quote me).

- Reserve hasn't been too bad, keeping in mind that we've only had the 170's about 10 months now. I think new hires have been sittingonly a few weeks reserve if they sit reserve at all. The routestructure has been growing and schedules have been good but everyone knows it can always slow down.

- Our pilots and flight attendants, not to mention passengers, love the airplane. It flys really well and is really comfortable in the cabin.

- Resume/interview time seems to vary from person to person. But, as always, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Sorry for the rather pointless post; the info I needed was on the website. I only remembered the website having the mins for the job not the 170. Guess I should've double checked. And yeah the first year pay sucks and yeah I get paid more to fly a Baron, but in the long term it is a worthy sacrifice. Its either that or go back to school, which I don't plan on doing for a couple years. I still love to fly my baron and I think I'll love flying an RJ and if it sucks after two years I'll have good experience to move on. The first year pay is gonna suck wherever you go. NO? If I can't make $200,000+ as a pilot then I'll find another mehtod its AMERICA dangit .
