20 years at EK or 20 years at DL...dont have to be a genius to make that choice...DL FO will be pulling more than the EK capt..and have a life as well...

good for you, but that is not true

I don't understand why so many Delta guys and fake Delta guys (sniper) troll Emirates threads and have to bash our quality of life as if it is some sort of validation that their life is better than ours.

I'm not a Delta guy..or a fake one...I'm here...in the pit...23 years...QOL is ok but not comparable to home...

Classy reply GF.

Serious lack of SA on 8ss's part. An apology would be in order 8ss.

I saw PD in BKK on my last trip FJ. That guys just exudes babe attracting pheromones. I think he'd do well anywhere. Although EK certainly gives him a far younger and more diverse pool of talent to choose from than DAL did.

I'm really glad that EK has worked out well for many. When I first started touting it here and elsewhere as an option for Americans who were stuck in the regional rut; retired early to save their pensions; furloughed from a major; or just generally unhappy with their career progression in the States there were very few takers.

Fortune favors the bold and those of you who took the risk are enjoying the benefits now. I really wish you all the best.

I've moved on for a variety of reasons. It is the right move for me at this time. Much as I did ten+ years ago when I first started touting a move to Emirates, I am now suggesting some look at a move back to the States as a good career choice. Many are looking very actively at it. It all depends on one's personal circumstances and goals. It would probably be a great move for some, but not for others.

TP,
Good luck to you!
Enjoy the new gig.
As for me, I will leave when it stops being fun, or when they run me off, which ever happens first.

I'm really not sure why so many people think a legacy is the end all be all. I've done it all and find working conditions and the general treatment of airline professionals to be very lacking in the usa and still declining. Bean counters despise us and that treatment of disdain is hard to tolerate these days after all the sacrifices given back so management can continue their climb up the corporate ladder. Personally, I'd rather be working for a company where I can drive to work, or be driven in this case, fly a trip with individuals from a diverse background, and enjoy the company of young, attractive and energetic cabin crew who enjoy their job instead of grannies bitching all day that someone wants a refill of their drink. I'll continue doing it until something better catches my eye but having to think about fighting for a jumpseat to get to work on an oversold flight and stay in a crap airport hotel on reserve does not appeal to me in any form. Expat life can be a great experience. And I don't have to listen to a bunch of fox news babble and obese doomsday preppers talking about guns and ammo all day.

I read sugarsugar's posts and I didn't see anything that I thought warranted an apology. What were you referring to? I'm not criticizing. I'm just curious.

My knee-jerk reaction was that Golden Falcon was a Delta guy from his comment that 20 year FO's at Delta make more than 20 year Captains at EK. I misconstrued his words to rhyme with the constant attacks from General Lee and Sniper attacking Emirates pilots.

And Sniper, you work at Mesa, you do not work at Delta. Sniper should be banned for threatening putting guys on blacklists at Delta etc etc...This forum should be open for free debate. I am really started to get tired of correcting all the false information being puked about Emirates.

I hope guys that wish to work for Emirates do not take advice from General or Sniper.

OK I follow now. Thanks. Happy New Year!

Sniper can't even spell the word "shiny", so I wouldn't pay him much attention.
