I would of liked to buy my new mortgage local in my town to help people just like me stay employeed. I would of done it even if it meant a few hundred dollars more at closing.

But because the public has no loyalty to the airlines and don't care about their own safety and happy emplyment of airline employees, I had to go with the lowest bidder elsewhere. If the public shops tickets like Walmart buys goods in China, without any respect for the US, then it forced me to buy my mortgage out of my town. Because of this a broker in my town missed out on a little extra in their paycheck.

I'll bet if a local broker gets on the internet and shops like crazy to get that $149 round trip ticket, they aren't thinking that it will come back to decrease their income someday, but it did this time.

I really wanted to buy from someone local but since I now have no job security and my paycheck is going downhill, there will be times in my town, locals will miss out on extra income also.

I would like to hear others opinions about how the public not willing to pay a fair price for their tickets will start to affect others in their community.

Maybe you should have given some money to your local grammar specialist. Blame it all you want on the consumers. It is not their fault. It is the pilots that are flying them around for shi!ty pay that is the problem.

I know I won't pay full price for an airline ticket. Wait a minute. Buying a ticket IS cheaper than non-revving.

I think it's called the Wal-Mart syndrome. It's very much not just an airline problem, it's everywhere. The amazing part about it is a lot of the people can't even afford this stuff when it's that cheap. I guess you can also put the Jones Syndrome in there as well.

I don't know the fix. The last great generation of Americans are leaving us quickly. If you didn't get the chance to learn from them, you really have missed out. My family taught me more about reponsibility than you could find in most high schools senior classrooms. We've failed as a society, as great as it is. Much like the airlines, it will get worse before it gets better.

Some of these new threads just keep getting better and better... If you pay too much for a mortgage just so you can say you kept the business in town, well, you just let yourself be taken advantage of. That's your problem...

The airlines can raise fares anytime they want. They will also have to deal with the resulting decrease in demand. It's up to them, but blaming the traveling public for what they are willing to pay to get from point A to point B is just plain stupid.

The only problem with the industry is overcapacity, and it's solving itself as we speak. This is obviously a painful process.

Outside the box

You have to think outside the box.

Flight sales are at a record hi. Tickets are at a record low.
So you must ask yourself why are the airlines doing this? It costs more
to have an airplane 100% sold.
Sure they would rather sell 100 seats for 1 buck verses 1 seat for $100.
But why not 50 seats for $2?
I will tell you why.....

THe airlines will all go bankrupt. They will go to the judges (G.B.) and get
away with reducing everones pay and pensions and then in less than
2 years you will see ticket prices double.
Airlines will then make record profits.
We are subsidizing ticket prices right now and will continue to do so till
the airlines make lots and lots of money.

With all due respect... What are you trying say ? I'm an educated man, but I don't have a clue what your point was..

If that's thinking "outside the box" I will respectfully remain inside the box... No disrespect intended, I just don't get where you're going here. I guess you're saying that the airlines are artificially keeping the prices low and intentionally driving themselves in to bankruptcy for the sole purpose of slashing wages. I have to disagree.

For one thing, look at United. They've pillaged (is that how you spell it) the workers, still can't get out of bankruptcy, and are still burning through cash at meteoric rates.

Dude, come on, when your drunk its a little hard to type...........trust me from experience........doctors and pilots I think have the highest rate.....but.......I think the original post was sorta like the bud commercial....I still play that once a day and laugh my *ss off.....

Less beer more coffee

what i am trying to say is that the companys are going to do whatever
they can to 1) Get people flying and hooked on it and 2) get labor as low
as it can go.
Then when 1 and 2 happen they raise fares.
and 3 happens which is ...... they make tons of cash.

I find it really really hard to believe that the airlines are not making any
money with my flying full loads. And if they are not making any money
having full airplanes then do you think for a friggin minute that the tickets
are then too cheap? or are the $25k/year pilots still making too much?

Learn things like you should keep blacks and jews out of your schools, women in the home and gays in the closet?

Maybe we could learn that its super duper to be brought up during a time of fantastic economic growth that led to pensions AND social security funded on the backs of our generation.

I appreciate the war effort, but yer nuts if you think those folks had a moral compass we should all be using.
