I would hope that all the NJ pilots would be suitably impressed with the Build On Success Slate. The combined talents and volunteerism of the group has earned that recognition. All 5 pilots are captains and much thought went into the division of duties, I'm sure.
1108 leadership has consistently told the pilots that they control their own destiny. As critical as good leadership is, it can't be successful unless the pilots themselves remain engaged. If the NJ pilots remain informed and involved, I have no doubt the B.O.S.S. slate will continue to lead them confidently forward in the tradition of SU.
The grass roots movement Strong Union began a few years ago; some of the 5 were FOs at that time and were leaders of their group. That said, all that is required to represent a group--any group--is a complete understanding of the issues that are important to them, a dedication to working on those issues, and the experience/ability to lead others.
