I have a book on the Triple 7 and it has a picture of a 737 nose in front of a GE90. Pretty amazing stuff.

I was out in Victorvielle, (VCV, FT. Gray), many times last spring flying D.O.D. airlift. I saw at least 3 UAL 777, and 11 747-400's. They sat along with what our ground handlers said were over 350 AC mothballed there. An impressive and sad sight to say the least. An arab company was at the time testing and running up engines on 10 Delta B727's that they bought.

I flew the 727 out there, and if the cross section does not fit the 777 engine, it isreal close. That is one big engine.

On a side note, if you ever get out to VCV, be sure to check out World Services West. It is the only ground handler there. They have a 1948 Ford fuel truck that is in mint condition. They still use it and they said it was bought new and never left the airport. A real classic!

Regards,

Rick

Here we go again..

Somebody we dont know or havnt met is calling us all idiots!

Starting to be a trend here i see..
Yes, this board runs rampant with personal insults and mud slinging. I'm suprised the moderators don't "nip it in the butt".

The right to free speech is one thing...but verbal/written abuse is another. Can't we ALL play nice?

I think the time for leadership is upon us.

I will start a new trend of admitting something personal in a way that will leave no doubt and no need for any finger-pointing in the future.

I "State your name" have been caught being a Dumba$$ at least once during my 30 years of conscious thought. Does this make me a Dumba$$? I'm not sure of the answer but the fact is I have been a Dumba$$ at least once before which I try to remember before I open my mouth about someone else being a Dumba$$. The ol' "takes one to know one" theory.

I encourage others to follow. C'mon, we've all been there.

For the record I've also been in love, lust, Canada, a tight spot, and have been known to be a dip$hit, smart-a$$, pervert, genius, daddy, and great lover on some occasions too. To name a few.

I would have NEVER admitted that bit about Canada! :D

Anybody who spends a nanosecond researching the various diameters of the various cross sections of a 727, AND THEN, (having nothing better to do) researches whether or not said cross section would adequately fit inside the engine cowling of a 777 is and outright, grand mal, Certifiable, Chronic, Aviation NERD. Who cares, I guess you guys still haven't found any girls after graduating from ERAU Prescott. Get a life boys, it's just a job.

Thank you..

What a nice thing to say..
Nerd has a much nicer ring to it..Dont you think?

Now..I am a plane nerd..

If it can fly..I want to fly it..
If it cant fly..I want to figure out how it could.

If its flown alot and very old..I want to sit in it and dream of flying it..

If its very new..I want to be the very first to fly it..

If sombody else is flying and im not..Im sad..

Painting a house is a job..

Flying airplanes off and on for most of my adult life has been great joy mixed with the odd moment of terror..

And for those that have gotten to the place of feeling like "its just a job"i am sad for you..

As far as chasing down useless aviation facts for the purpose of discussion..

What/whom does it hurt?

Beats the heck out of sitting around waiting for the mail and the recall letters..
