Horizon isn't competing with us for flying.

ALPA isn't speaking for me right now.
ASA ALPA is speaking for the majority though. Tough luck for you, huh. Sucks to be a pu$$y.

If we surprised him with some super low pay rates then it might make a short term difference, but Skywest is Jerry's airline. ASA will be shrunk out of existence until the day when he pulls the plug there will not be many left to cry about it.STRIKE VOTE NOW!

Very likely, so please ASA pilots, go out on your own terms and go down swinging. Maybe yall can land some haymakers on the way down. I feel sory for you all, but it is the regional pilots who have the least to lose. Yes there are some senior captains over 40 to 60 years old, but the major airline guys are clearly unwilling to stop this madness that has gone on for the past 5 years as the vast majority of them have too much to lose, but the regionals consist mostly of us younger guys who can start elsewhere and still have the time to make it to a career airline in the future. But if we don't stand up and stop taking this crap management feeds us, there will be very few career airlines left.

Please guys, if you stand firm on this, you all may go down in history as the beginning of the end of managements tyranny over us. We need to take control , and NOW is the time. Death to tyrants!!!!!!

Yeah right. Thats what happened at TSA and look whats happening now. Standing firm will get you on the street right now. The whipsaw is buzzing and it don't look like Jerry is scared to swing it.

And Death to Tyrants? Too much Union Kool Aid. Time to back away from that table.

Is being on the street any worse than the 20 to 30 grand jobs that permeate the industry now? How much less are pilots willing to work for? This just blows my mind that their is still a seemingly endless supply of guys lining up for these regional jobs. If I were just out of HS, or college and looking to start my career now or over the past few years, I would RUN from this profession. But I started this well before the slide, when things were going up up and up. United contract 2000, Delta contract 2001, Comair and AWAC contract 2001, United, AA were hiring 100 pilots a month and just about every other career airline hiring. No one in their right mind would have hesitated pursuing this career back then. But now? All I can say is please youngsters of the country, stop entering this field and let the pool dry up. There is nothing here for you.

Grow a sack

get some balls everyone and stand up for what it right. if we give in to mngmnt this time it is just going to happen again and again...Delta(has anyone seen them). we have had crappy pay and even worse work rules for too long now and it is time to change. so be it if we get the screw(like we haven't already been) we can hold our heads high having done the right thing and perhaps help another brother in the process. race to the bottom, I'm not doing it, let mesa do that. Like i have said before, you alpa haters go to mngmnt and see if you can neg. your own contract... good luck with that. oh yeah and wait until they need something and just take it from you... ie any other non-union group... but you are probably happy to help the company(kiss ass@s).
venting through... just do the right thing.

I shouldn't have to be a member of ALPA to be employed by ASA. What ever happened to that thing called "Free Association" Its a crime that 2% of my paycheck goes to them and I can't do a thing about it. They ARE like Mafia Kingpins

It was this way before you were hired here sport. Go apply at SKYW, they're not ALPA.

Cush, how long do thing we will stay in business with these industry leading wages the CNC has proposed. If passed, we will be the highest paid regional on all fleets in DCI. .

Once again, it's called negotiations. We ask for the moon, and the company asks for cuts. Through negotiations, that means back & forth offers, that "high offer" ALPA starts with eventually comes down somewhere where ALPA & management agree on.

Similar to buying a car, but you probably pay full price yourself because it's all shiny and smells good, and you look cool sitting in it. Right?

Agreed, but it may be too late now to save a bunch of our flying. I guess we are being spanked pretty hard for not laying down and playing ball. Oh well, but hey --- great for all those junior Skywest pilots! We should just be thankful Skywest bought us, right........
