I don't know, I don't speak for those guys, but they probably didn't put it out because it wasn't resolved yet! Better to wait and put out accurate info than to put out something wrong...

So sorry you lost your 7 hours of pay or whatever, but this isn't all about just you, I'm sure you'll be just fine. What would you do to "plan on it" anyway? Not bid naps?

.....so we got something in exchange for it? By the way, it still isn't out............ are you saying that it isn't resolved yet? More excuses..... I can't think of one good reason that we gave this to them.....

....it was worth about 600 dollars.....excuse me for asking why we gave that up.... I'm sure you would be upset about giving up 600 dollars for no good reason.....

So you are telling me that the new open time system starts tonight.....and not ONE WORD of information has come out from either side on how this works? Where do we go to do this? I thought the company needed time to develope this new software system. Is anybody going to tell us how this works?

As far as I know, it will work just like the old system (i.e. through Flica). So much for needing time to develop the "new" system.

Next question....where does it say in the contract that the bucket system starts in March or April. I cannot find it anywhere!

Flica as always had that system. Flica can turn it on at anytime. Airtran uses Flica, and flica approves or deny the trip trade right then !!

Sch. section been done for 2.5 years ???

EXACTLY!!!! So why did we have to wait from the Dec 17th as it was in the implementation schedule?!?!? What did the company give us in return for waiting 6 weeks? And, who is lying about having to wait for the software to be developed???

I agree with Joe, something needs to be said about how the company was given free passes at some of this stuff. What did the pilots get in exchange for giving up 24 hour open time that was supposed to go in effect on 17 December?

*crickets chirping...*

I seem to remember the commuter clause starting a month early, as well as reserves getting their extra golden days a month early.

What I'd really like to know is what we, the pilot group, received as compensation for postponing the rigs until Jan 31? Looking at the line award credits, we all got about 25 hours a month more than usual if a line holder. That's a nice chunk of change ALPA gave up (and saved the company) by letting them delay the rig implementation two months.

And it's not like they needed to re-work how they write lines. Feb looks like the same unproductive crap we've been doing.

So what's the story? Why is the MEC going soft on the company after 5+ years of posturing? I'm really beginning to wonder if we need some fresh air in the union.

.....that's the confusing part.....5+years of chest thumping "burn the house down".....then roll over on the little stuff.....To top it off it's 5 days before the 31st, and over 2 months since the signing, and still no official word on it.....

I don't know. As Sweptback proudly pointed out, "the weekly emails usually go out on Fridays" but it's now Saturday and still nothing but crickets chirping. Our reps have become completely unaccountable to the pilot group. You call them and all they do is argue with you as to why they are right and you just "don't get the big picture". Meanwhile, money is slipping through our fingers and ASA/SkyWest Inc is laughing all the way to the bank. Nothing the company promised has been delivered as intended. And now we're getting memos that we're suddenly responsible for babysitting ATL ops to ensure on-time departures? Hello, ALPA, wake up!

Danny, Nick, Mike, Seth, Newie, and the rest: IT'S TIME TO GET TOUGH ON ASA!!!

Didn't we go to the gate to pick up the release at DFW? What's the big deal? As more and more gates get jetways, we'll be walking to the airplane from the gate. It makes sense to get the release right then and there.

Not to mention about every other airline gets their release from the gate as well. That's one of the reasons why this new idea came, because ASA was the only DCI carrier in ATL that needed the release delivered. Delta wants to run the ramp/gate staff very lean and they didn't want an extra gate agent whose only job is to check on the crews to see if they're ready and give them releases.

Thanks Sweptback.

As I said...

I knew I just "don't get it". Of course ASA and Delta are right! Why should Shanaynay have to walk out in the cold and rain to deliver those lazy pilots their release? Make them earn all the money they extorted from us in that new contract of theirs! Make them come get it!!!

Look, I'm with you. I don't think this will change anything either... but I personally don't mind going to the gate for any other reason than to make sure a JS doesn't get left behind with our hoky new pass system.

That's a valid point. I'll go out of my way to help a fellow pilot.

I won't go out of my way to help a company that does not value me as an employee, refuses to recognize the contribution I make to its bottom line, and in fact, usually finds a way to blame me for all of its problems. As they have done once again in this case with the "new" boarding procedures

But what about BH's new plan for success?
And I quote....
Ensuring employee satisfaction, partner satisfaction, and customer satisfaction – in that order – will
strengthen our foundation and allow us to build a product and brand that all ASA stakeholders can
be proud to be part of. Improving employee satisfaction
means improving your quality of life both on and off the job.

I actually had hope and thought maybe someone around here who finally gets it....but, I wanna see some evidence this is more than words! What is ASA gonna do to improve employee satisfaction??? I've never seen it. In fact, all I see lately are screw ups, more failed policy and new contract violations.

I digress.........
