Mesaba pays a bonus quarterly to all employees. The bonus is made up of a formula with safety and performance as being the primary ingredients. However, pilots at Mesaba are not considered employees and have no direct connection to performance or safety of Mesaba Airlines flights, so pilots are not welcome to participate in the bonus program.
I believe that ALPA's statement was "the company said that pilots receiving bonuses is not negotiable."
ExpressJet has an Employee Profit Sharing program. Prior to Contract 2004, the pilots were not participants in the plan. We now are full participants for FY 2005. The company distributes 10% of its pre-tax net income to all eligible employees.
Performance Rewards Program tracks 4 factors with payouts of 0, 25, 50 or 75 dollars each per quarter depending on reaching certain goals. Last quarter paid $150.
Margin Based Incentive Program takes profit margin for the company per quarter and multiplies that by each individual's gross income (for the quarter) for a profit sharing check. Last quater paid 5.5%.
These are paid to all employees of the company, not just pilots, although Perf Rewards only after one year of service, MBIP after two.
AE has a performance bonus Plan......$75 for each month we meet a pre-determined performance goal based on historical data-----it is paid quarterly....I think last year we made 8 out of 12 months. There is also some provision that we get a percentage annually if we exceed X number of days ahead of the performance target, but it is basically unattainable with ORD, LGA, and BOS as bases and heavy weather and delays year round.
