The press release points out that the a/c reduction at CMR is being studied. They did point out that Cinci will have to be right sized. I'm still betting that CMR is history before they exit.

What's a PRP? Thanks.

A retired pilot that came back for a "specific" amount of time to keep flying so the fleets weren't parked. In the contract, the old one, we had to give only 24 hours notice for retirement, and most pilots were watching the GATT rate, which fluxuated. The company could not put out bids for people that may not go, so we had to come up with something so 25 777 captains couldn't ground the 777 fleet if they decided on Aug 31st to go Sep 1st. We have 187, and they were supposed to leave Dec 31st, but the company now wants until July 1st, 06. They will eventually go. Most are line check airman or 777 captains. (hard to replace IOE pilots or Sim evaluators on a moments notice) And, I do want them gone ASAP.

Bye Bye--General Lee

A Post Retirement Pilot. Last year in order to avoid parking the wide bodied fleet due to large numbers of retirements, ALPA agreed to allow the company to recall current and qualified retired Delta pilots to the left seat they just retired from until a replacement can be trained. Currently there are approximately 200 PRPs flying in the left seats of DAL wide bodied aircraft. The PRP program is scheduled to end December 31, 2005, but the company wants top extend it to July 2006.

the only arena the legacies would get their azzes kicked is whereever JBLU and LUV are NOT, and thats international

however not many "new routes" left in that arena, AMR, CAL cover most all major international cities

its not like we are re-inventing the wheel here

Er' um' and what when AAI, or JBLUE, or LUV orders a 787?
