Hi!

They were not "intentionally" violating a rule. They did not know they were being called, and were missing radio calls (for whatever reason). If they realized they were called, I'm 100% sure they would have responded.

I know 2 guys who flew about 2 1/2 hrs through a bunch of ATC sectors. They were arguing about religion. GPS coupled to autopilot, so on course.

FWIW - Sleeping is biological and not always intentional. IMHO get surgery for Sleep Apnea and get back to work. But it is hard to accidentally pull out the laptop.

Not that any of us here know what happened.

I think those guys that were snoozing out in Hawaii lost their jobs too.

The reason why the NWA188 guys were excluded from ASAP is because they intentionally were violating a rule.

Talking to the media, the fed agencies running their mouths to the media, and the other issues certainly didn't help their situation.

They may get their jobs back but it's going to be a fight.

They'll need their certificates back first!

I would guess the SKETR 3... seems like the most likely from that direction, plus the final course toward the last point is an easterly heading, which would make sense if the FMS in the bus was set up to go to Heading mode when passing the last "known" waypoint...
