Look, I know SWA guys work hard...but the reward they get outweighs that. Delta FO's make AF money. (Which is pretty sad). SWA FO's make Delta Capt money. And SWA Capts make the money that Delta guys bragged about a decade ago.

I just think with a union like Delta has, that they will be further down the pay scale in 10 years from SWA. I'm betting on another round of consessions between now and the end of the decade at Delta.

That would be inconsequential to you. You never made it to the big leagues. You remind me of a fat football fan living at his moms house doing Monday morning quarterbacking.

You are not in the game, just an outsider wish he was in.

for you Deltoids, could this be a bargaining chip during this merger? I mean, hire some extra pilots and use them as hostage during your contract talks? Right now, hiring pilots makes no sense for any carrier.

Um, no? Dalpa is starting contract talks soon, but that is allowed 18 months prior to the opener. No biggie there. This airline is a Spring and Summer airline. They plan for those seasons. DL is bringing 22 757s out of the desert, along with 6 767s I believe. That, and getting MD90s to replace out going DC9s means DL will probably be even more short next Spring or Summer than this upcoming season. Big retirements start a few years from now. This is all about growth, from within (planes in desert).

Bye Bye--General Lee

Yep! Things are looking good! Maybe Dalpa will start with an opener of only a 10% consession...but end up settling for a 15% cut in pay, a plundering of any remaining retirement, and deleting all work rules.

Tanker A$$ - dont waste your time applying. Remeber me? You said you could get hired over here and you had the balls to send me your name. I will make sure that your loayality is know to those who make the decisions and you can remain a jobless tool.

If you want to make a bet of it - send me your application number so I can expedite the process of keeping you out of my airline you jackass.

From a guy about to be involved in a merger, this news is very comforting. I think there is a little more overlap in the NWA/DAL route system than the UAL/CAL system and yet over 2 years after the merger announcement, DAL is hiring! Congrats guys on a successful merger and a successful airline. Good luck to those who will be interviewing this Fall.

Whatever jester. If I want a job at Delta then it will happen. Don't worry buddy. I have a little while before I retire, and by then hopefully SWA will be hiring. If I have to get on at Delta, I am going to split as soon as I can find a better job at another carrier or UPS/FedEx.

Anyone know what the contractual flow-through terms are with Compass and Mesaba? I've seen and heard about fifteen different things.
The simple is.

20 per month from CPS. Up to 25% of the list in a rolling 12 month period. The CPS pilot can be held back up to 90 days at the discretion of CPS management, but will get numbers. 25% Max, of their list can flow per year.

Mesaba is 9 per class with no max.

I believe it is allowed. I would reference the hiring page on delta.com.

A few buds did it the last few hiring cycles and they explained it in the interview.

Not actually. Mesaba is UP TO nine per month. That is the monthly max. There is no written minimum per month.
Also Compass gets about 100 to go in the first 12 months. They get the first 20 slots in the class, so they would be done sending pilots at the six month mark of hiring except....define "class"

Each class has been put in seniority order by way of ss#.

It depends on the "class size". Delta can have a single class of 200. Seniority in ss# order for all 200. Ground school start times for 30 pilots every two weeks like normal. Then they only take 20 Compass pilots for those 200. Sucks and not what was intended but that is what I heard is being considered.

The next question is about priority...

Say for example a class is only 15 pilots. Does CPZ get priority for all 15, or is there a split?

This maybe was already addressed but do these guys have to do any type of interview or do they just show up for indoc.? Are they even screened? When I was at a certain IAH airline and saw guys flow through to CAL, I know that there were guys that CAL would rather have not taken. Do we have any choice who we take or are we going to get some wingnuts?

You probably got RA at CAL, what a tool he is, flow thru is the only way that scab would have gotten hired.
