Don't know if any of you guys caught the webcast. Only really interesting information was that ILN will close.

UPS will effectively be doing not only the US/Canada/Mexico flying, but also the sorting. The only thing DHL will operate will be the ground portion, i.e. pick-up/delivery and trucking.

While that would not surprise anyone, that was never said. It was said they have not yet made a decision on the ILN hub since it serves as an important trucing service point for them as well. They said a decision on the ILN hub was not yet made on whether it will continue to serve that purpose or not. When UPS takes they dhl freight, yes it will be sorted in SDF and/or ONT.

But leave it to you to point something like that out.

Are we talking about the same webcast; the one from this morning Central European Time?

I had to check with a couple of collegues who also saw it, and nobody was in any doubt. John Mullen said quite clearly that ILN will close down, that they've already received angry calls and mails from OH official, but that the decision had been made in ILN will close.

No information about when, of course, they'll keep us (but mainly you guys in the US) in the dark for as long as possible, hoping you'll turn up for work and keep the wheels turning. Quite disgusting really.

No, it was not the one from this morning. It was from yesterday when they said they may keep the ILN hub and sort for line-haul. If the said this morning they will now close it, they are a lying bunch of bastards since there is no way they just came up with that overnight.

BTMFD

Ask United union guys what that means if anyone does not know. Arrogant bunch as well to think they will have a smooth transition without paying dearly to all the individuals who's lives they devastated by their incompetence.

$$$$ talks, better put it out now or there may not be any customers left when everyone jumps ship over here.
