Sorry, that was meant for DHL employees, which we most certainly are not!
What makes you think ALPA even cares? Their history of support to dying airlines is monumentally absent. The Teamsters are no better. I think they wrote ABX off to get dhl to sign the big contract for ground and truck drivers.I know it’s early, but has their been any statement from either union (ALPA or teamsters) or either management.
Who knows? It's not like there are a ton of jobs out there right now.
Don't know if any of you guys caught the webcast. Only really interesting information was that ILN will close.
UPS will effectively be doing not only the US/Canada/Mexico flying, but also the sorting. The only thing DHL will operate will be the ground portion, i.e. pick-up/delivery and trucking.
Shooter
Are we talking about the same webcast; the one from this morning Central European Time?
I had to check with a couple of collegues who also saw it, and nobody was in any doubt. John Mullen said quite clearly that ILN will close down, that they've already received angry calls and mails from OH official, but that the decision had been made in ILN will close.
No information about when, of course, they'll keep us (but mainly you guys in the US) in the dark for as long as possible, hoping you'll turn up for work and keep the wheels turning. Quite disgusting really.
