"Excluding special items and $1.4 billion of fuel hedge losses, Delta's net profit for 2009 was $291 million."

Delta's net loss for 2009 was $1.2 billion, including $169 million in special items. Excluding special items and $1.4 billion of fuel hedge losses, Delta's net profit for 2009 was $291 million.

so they made money or....lost money or...hedged fuel or...had lots of special items or...

what happened to...

Revenue: X
Expenses: Y
Profit (Loss): Z

How big of bonuses do you generally get for only losing $1.2billion? I hope they get a ton!!!

dunno but as far as pilots are concerned, our pay has gon up and our stock that was awarded to us as part of the merger has thus far given a great return and is much higher than when we first got it. ;)

If it were that easy, there would be alot more unemployed tax accountants and lawyers. They have families too.

I'm shocked! Delta always makes a hearty profit. What's happening? If Delta can't be profitable NO ONE CAN!!!!! What really suprises me is that the loss at Delta couldn't be offset by the dumptruck load of cash that Song always brings in.

I guess you're tired of animal and kiddie porn, so now you're on to this kind of masturbation?

I'm starting to think these guys really just don't want to cut me a profit sharing check....damn them. Anybody want to hire a fuel hedging guy? Looks like he lost over $100,000 per pilot. I'm sure he'll get a bonus!
