Look at what's happening today in India. According to CNN they singled out Brits and Yanks. Nothing will kill international travel like a little terrorism.

I hear the Africa layovers make Flint, Fargo, and Minot on the DC9 look pretty good :)

Is it true you have armed escorts to and from the hotel is some places and are instructed not to leave the hotel?

What are you...yellow? Seriously they should put an equipment rack with AR-15s and shotguns in the cockpit in case the aircraft needs to be defended. Recurrent will be an extra week next year for weapons training.

My point exactly-

Gen Lee thinks DAL is bulletproof.... no company has ever outlived its incompetence.....We will see how wrong DAL is when they make Airtran eat it and SWA comes in and gives them the super-DDT!

Not a smart strategy, but neither is dumping all the feed and investing heavily is Africa-for God's sake!!! That entire continent has never made any airline any money with the exception of Egypt and S. Africa!

-Just wait, Gen-a couple of years, and I will get a really sweet "told-you-so!"

Wow, I can't wait for you to tell me that. Except, when you do tell me that, you will be one of those guys who is catering the 767(after more of the RJs are parked), and I will say, "yeah, you were right, I should have listened to you. Hey, will you take this cockpit garbage bag for me? Thanks, and hand me a water bottle while you are at it....."

Do you know how many flights we actually have to Africa a day? How many compared to Air France or KLM? They have three times as many flights, and how are they doing? They are buying up other airlines (Alitalia for example). But not every passenger wants to go up to Europe first on their way to America, and if they want to go quicker, they will go on our flights. Are there any other geographical locations we should avoid? Also, we have maybe 6-7 flights a day to Africa. Does that sound like a lot to you, when we have thousands of flights everywhere else?

But, I can't wait until you tell me "how it is" in a couple years. When you do, I will reward you with a small Dasani water, and then say, "wipe down the floor below the toilet please, I think I leaked a bit..."

Bye Bye--General Lee

You sorry little man:smash:

We'll see who is sorry when you wind up getting your balls kicked in by those guys and all their "little 737s."

A few things for you genius.
One, you are an RJ driver. If you work for any affiliate that has ties to a major, you do not want to wish ill will on them. In this market problems for them mean problems for you. So do not bite the hand that feeds you. That is just plain stupid.

Two, SWA runs a very organized campaign when they come to a city. I am almost for certain that they will be in ATL in under three years. That is great. DAL knows how to compete with them. We are rational as they are. What you will see if one of two things.
Either they will come in and eat AAI for lunch and watch them fail, or they will merge with them.

Three, you need to realize that many legacy business models have gotten to the point that they can compete with SWA and the like. A few years ago no, but now they can. That is why there was such a blood bath after 9-11. DAL like many carriers has the reach and scope to deal with an attack on their hub.

What I suggest you do is, go do a little research, quit flame bating, and realize that you are proving yourself to be the fool.

All are OK. It happened at the best possible time for us. Do not talk about it anymore on a public board. If you want more info go to the union or company websites.
Happy Turkey Day!!!
