General....your still glossing over the fact that the 50 seaters (and I'll try to speak slowly for you).....WERE GOING AWAY ANYWAY!
Has nothing to do with the 717 and everything with you allowing MORE larger RJs for a small payraise.
RA is pretty slick.
PS - We are saving several million dollars with you taking those 717s too, thanks by the way. Keeps us still at just one fleet type...not 11 like you.
Red,
315 50 seaters still had hard leases through 2015. Now, half of those will be gone sooner. Had all of them stayed through 2015 on those leases, the 717s would have added too many seats to the market. Those are the facts, not speculation.
And a small pay raise? 20% over 3 years is small? DL 737 pilots meet your pay next year, and the widebody pilots have passed you, and will continue to do so (GK wants LCC status again probably). And again, you still don't seem to understand that 70 76 seaters will be replacing 215 50 seaters, and they will slide down to their current routes, making more money for DL. Your airline is dumping 17 AT routes for good, proving that some planes can't make money on certain routes. But different sized planes may be able to. Your one sized fleet plan sure wont make 17 communities happy or feel the LUV. Oh well, I know an airline that will get 717s and try it. Thanks!
