I agree with you, you have to find a place in aviation that you think you fit into. In the late 90's I told my mentor that I wanted to fly for Brown. He told me I was crazy, I should fly for NWA.
I've been where you are, I have over 3K in the old F (including some in the deuce), and donated alot of my hearing to her.

If you really do know Fred Smith or someone else with that kind of pull, WHY did they forget to call you???
I dont have 1000 turbine pic first off.. that is a hard min no matter who you know.... I have not even applied to fedex... therefore they did not forget anything....

The duece eh? That was before my Fokker time. Although I still hear stories from some of the long time guys that did fly her. As a matter of fact my FDX sponsor even has some time in triple two. Rather funny I think.

For clarification the tail on my old avatar was not that I have a desire for FDX. That tail was just the tail of the specific aircraft I fly.

It sounds like you made a good call by listening to your DAL buddy in the mid 90's. Maybe I can get ahold of his magic 8 ball for my own career? It's all a roll of the dice with regards to how the airline you go with will be doing in the next 15 years. You never know in 10 years FDX may be furloughing while NWA may be the most sought after job out there. Most would agree the FDX looks good right now, all I was trying to get across is that no job is all roses.

I never said any place was the best place to be over time. If you go back 5 decades and look at the airline business every five years there was a different "best place to be." It's all luck.

I do think that FedEx's future (if Asia keeps doing what it is) is solid. All the airlines are running to the international market too. The profit margin has dried up domestically. Sure the flights are full, but no one is making any money.

Right now, today, I wouldn't hang my hat on NWA, but hopefully they improve. I have lots of friends there. Where is the growth for them?

As for the Avatar, you were advertising FedEx and bashing them at the same time. It just didn't seem right, maybe the tank is better for you. FedEx main line schedules are not the same as the feeders. Get a job and stick with it and hope you get lucky. One of my best friends left FedEx after 4.5 years (he hated the schedules) and went to UAL in 99'. Now he is a junior Captain at JetBlue.

Ask him and he would tell you FedEx is the best job on the planet. He's been around you know.

what memtrash didn't tell you is that he sucked down about 30lbs of french bread and pastries....he was in the uniform shop the other day with me and well let me just say 42" waist!!! time for nutrisystem memtrash! i can see why u r getting bigger domestically as well...nice spread last week at your house! food was great!

The cook says thanks for the food comment.

42" waist? Hey FatBoyCaptain I'm not the same size you are. I'm 35 pounds lighter.
Some of the guys on here might think the "Boy" means you are young, but at 38 years OLD that is over. "The boy" is what the men at your new gym call you in the shower.

What color is the sky in your world?
I guess you give the same discription to the girls you meet online. What do they say when they meet you and you are 5'6", 190#, and balding? I'm sure you do get your hairs (all 50 of them) cut every two weeks. The comb over is hard to maintain. You ever get to 6' tall OR 190# I'll let you beat me around the bike trail once.

Delusional FatBoyCaptain enjoy GEG. :smash:

The NWA comment in my post was simply for the sake of example. In the 90's people were using FDX to build some jet time to get to NWA. Now NWA is used for interview practice. Rather interesting to watch really.

My avatar may just not show enough detail with regard to what the picture actually is. The tank is surrounded by soldiers, each with a smiley face placed on their heads. Irony, and sarcasm. It bodes well with me. Perhaps I'll have to augment to picture a bit to show it better.

Edit: New avatar anyway.

CaptainDenial, I hate that you are going through life short, fat, and balding. Most guys under 40 have some hair on top, but your comb over looks pretty good ... until you get it in a strong wind. I'm sure your personal appearance is the reason all the female pilots have you on their no fly list.

I googled your name and all I got was a picture of you with a jelly donut in your mouth in an ad for liposuction.

My advice for you is to wear a hat and a bigger shirt. Most folks are scared to stand in front of you fearing a button might pop off and kill them.
The yellow pit stains don't help either, wear a t-shirt!

PS Black is not always slimming!
