I can tell you that she deserves that job much more than any other guy out there with 7k hours that waits for the job to land on his lap. She will be a great asset to Delta and they are very lucky to have her (or any other company). Is it double standard? IMO, no. She worked very hard to be where she is. Someone already stated her intelligence and good skills. I rather fly with her on a 4 day, than with an old-bitter experienced guy.

I'd rather fly with her than a boricua!!

Well put Fly Auburn. by the way ROLL TIDE ROLL--YOU WILL NOT SEE SIX!!! HOW IS THE UPGRADE?JET BLUE RIGHT?CONGRATS

Hoops?? unless your talking about the hoops in her ears then she didn't jump though $hit. I have nothing against female pilots, but the fact is the only reason that somebody got hired on with the evil empire and had only 2000 hrs total was because she had breasts. Hell maybe I should go get some, I here they do amazing things with plastic surgery these days.

For over 50 years the airlines hired only men, and usually only white men. Now the tables have turned, and some guys can't handle it. I love it!

On seniority.
Not to you. To all of the people that are posting on here about where to go.
Crying about what has happened will get you nowhere. It is what it is. You know that I do not have to explain how seniority. The one in question was not a former FA. The one with 2000ttl time was in the next class.
Never once did I say I was the mouth piece of DAL. I am not but one voice. Never once did I say anything more than that. What I post is my view of this situation. I know her and she is a darn good pilot and person. Am I personally offended, no. But the fact is that this rant about women is purely unprofessional.

I think you meant to say, "you ARE but one voice."
But how does that mean she will be senior to me for the rest of my career?
And as for the training comment in your previous post, I had 12 guys in my recall class, and 4 of them hadn't flown in the past 5 years. Not ONE needed extra training.

B737Guy-

I think CL spent too many years as a big fish in ASA's small pond, hence he speaks from that pulpit. I doubt he meant any ill will to you or any other Deltoid.

Two wrongs don't make a right!
Affirmative action is racism.
Quota's should be illegal.
Hiring should be based on the best qualified, plane and simple.

I know i spelt plain wrong!

You are correct in my misuse of phraseology737 guy. Thank you for the correction.
Hate to tell you but I was a small fish over there at ASA as well. Just calling like I see it. I may be wrong, and it is your right to correct be and tell me I am full of BS. I can take it. I have thick skin. Plus, I know that I make mistakes. I can live with that.

Wow, 2000 tt and she "worked very hard"? I'm not slamming the specific person, but saying what you said is pretty funny. Does this person derver this job anymore than a white male with 2000tt and no PIC that is "working hard"? I agree with the statement of the guys waiting for the jonb to fall in thier lap, but there is no fcuking way she desreves it more than a guy with 1000 PIC (or more, civ OR mil) that is busting his hump, took an upgrade (command), got screwed over by 9/11, or shot at serving his country, goes to the job fairs, ect, and can't seem to get a call.

Did this person go to Western Michigan? Delta set up a Women's aviation course there that would act as a pipeline to getting on with one of the DCI airlines and eventually lead to an interview at Delta. If she is from there then this is starting to become clearer.

You think I care that she's a woman??? Only to the point that she got hired with 2000 hrs and there is no chance that any caucasion male from the civilian world could ever get hired with that flight time. Congrats to her for getting the job but the only reason they even picked her out of the stack is so they can meet some B.S. affirmitive action quota!

What's the over/under on the number of divorces she'll cause before she becomes CP?

Back to the subject---are all the new hires going to the mad-dog? How long before they can hold 75/76?

new hires are going to the 88 and 738. Some of the first new hire class have already received bids to the 767 or 7ER, and are just awaiting training. Of course the question is do you really want to go to the 767 and be the bottom pilot for the next three years, or would you be better staying on the 88 and getting some seniority. But, to each his own.

And, do you want to go through 2 training events on probation?

Personally I'd stay in whatever aircraft they gave me and be comfortable in it for my probationary year and then decide after about 11 months if I want to go to another seat. I couldn't imagine learning 2 aircraft within a few months of each other. I got A320 and MD11 types in the same year and I thought that was a lot of numbers and systems to remember (then again it was also at 2 different companies.)

In my day we had to walk five miles uphill to the nearest airport in snow up to our knees. We made this journey both to and fro with only a mere expectation of being selected to get a ride in the cropduster flown by BettyBoobs.
