Hey Guys,
Can anyone tell me what mins are competitive for Delta? I tried a a search but didn't come up with anything.
Are they taking guys with 135 backgrounds?
Or should I stop worrying about experience, find a senior captain at ATL and mow his lawn every week ... ?

White male or everyone else?
That kind of comment is really getting old.White male or everyone else?

Agreed and when companies stop hiring based on race and gender, I will stop posting my distaste for hiring practices at the airlines. Set the standard and stick to it, no matter what dangles between one's legs or the color of their skin. Until the discrimination ceases, I will voice my opinion!
Right now, there seems to be enough opportunity for anyone, or any demographic, to get the call. Some might have to work a little harder or perservere a little longer - but the opportunity is there.
One thing I like about Delta is that their interview process is very objective.
I think that the quickest way to get the call would be to have someone walk your stuff in. Either to the CPO or to pilot recruitment. That seems to be the way to get an app looked at.
Don't really know what the correct answer is to this "quandry".
I have had my application in for over a month now, total time 8000+ hours, 6000 PIC turbine/jet in 121 regional operations, and 2 very nice internal recommendations from 767 Captains known to me for many years. Still no word however.
Beginning to think it is my age, which I admitted to (48), or perhaps the volume of applications. Really would like to work for such a reputable company, and I honestly believe I should have lots of quality time remaining in my flying career to offer.
Somewhat "in limbo" right now.
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
Good luck to all that apply!
You need those 767 captains to go into Arnie's office and talk it up for you. Seems like that is that way to get your name in the hat. Good luck to you.
That is I think how I got my interview. Had a buddy check up on me and got the call the same day!

They have roughly 1900-2000 apps that they see as interviewable.
So which is it? Why don't they make the competitive mins THE MINS, LORs and internal recommendations included. I don't quite get the whole no PIC requirement, if it's so moot. Airtran also has a low PIC req, but I assume that's also a fake min....Is the reason really to keep their options open or to CYA perhaps? Can somebody draw it in crayons for me as to why they define such disconnected mins if you need 6000 PIC to get the job? Just curious as to the reasoning..
