No. After gathering info. Very toxic enviroment.

I've read on another board that the delta pilots are looking at a scope violation for delta air elite flying a couple of aircraft over a specific weight limit by pilots not on their seniority list (flying performed by an "affiliate). If so, what aircraft would be over the weight limit (guessing over 70K?)

Maybe the Delta pilots should focus on the 121 scope issue first.

Avoid dpj at all costs...............js is a bum. The admiral sits beneath his painted portrait in his coast guard uniform every morning at breakfast at a restaurant in kinston, nc. Unemployment is a better option than dpj........... WATCH FOR DELTA TO SHUT IT DOWN.

Highly doubt it. You gotta be a Full 737 or Better to see 70k. Maybe a BBJ Guy can chime in on this FlameBait?

Last I heard, JS Raped a Guy for his GIII/CL60 and that was the biggest he had on D104?

100-1/2

The joy is spreading to managed aircraft now. Training contracts for recurrent. I told the owner no thanks. Then Mr. FBI called asking if I was interested in joining the pilot group.

...I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Good for you. Glad you took a stand. Eventually things will have to go back to the way they were with attrition at 15%.

I'd have to imagine the folks who care aren't going to continue to let JS run through $200k-$500k/month for much longer.

...but I was thinking that about 6 months ago when we were trying to convince the owner to switch certificates. I guess those "guaranteed hours" were too much of a carrot.

Every time I get a piece of mail from DPJ in the office talking about having our "under utilized" Part 91 aircraft earn guaranteed charter revenue, I rip it up and toss it in the trash...

Also, many of these 'under utilized' aircraft are also for sale. No big surprise there. It sucks being tied to a tail that is for sale!

Not when the owner is out of his mind...like asking $2.995m for a 10 year old airframe with >5,000 hours that can probably be picked up brand new for < $7m.

Oh the fun we have in this industry.

What do I heart?

I heart picking up a new job in "better" equipment (better equipped & maintained than the owner/boss-man was doing) with 30% better pay and a "better" schedule.......and then finding out your former boss-man is your sim partner at recurrent. The recurrent you don't have to sign a training contract for.

If he wouldn't have pushed the training contract issue, I'd have still been there on the DPJ certificate. What a shame.

I count the days till the orgianl mangement over and Segrave Aviation is purged from DPJ, and if not I feel no love loss if they drag them thru the rabbit hole with them. I hope that things will turn for them, for the pilots sake, but if not I hope all the pilots find greener fields and people get the clue, maybe thats not a good place to be.

Well said. The business model is a good conept. The customers are very happy with the service. However the front line employees are bending over backwards. At some point this will break. 23 pilots were hired in june due to attrition. Hopefully someone in ATL will throw the red flag and say," why are our front line people leaving and why are our training costs so high?" When JS has to answer this to ATL hopefully change will come.

Where are they (the guys leaving) going? Other 135/91 or did some get picked up by SWA/JB?

I've got an app in at DPJ (before anyone bashes, I'm furloughed NJA, and it would be for family reasons, not for the specific job... I already know the place is substandard)....

How many pilots does DPJ have?

Each has their own different reason for leaving. QOL seems to be the biggest. I would guess there are about 100 pilots. Some pilots did come with their managed plane. But that is another story.

My wife's friend knows a guy who just got hired by DPJ.. I assume he was one of the 23 or so new guys.... Apparently he drove up to CVG and walked in to hand his stuff in...I could possibly do something like that on our next visit home to my wifes place, seeing how we used to live 2 miles from the airport!!...

In your, or anyones, opinion....How accurate is their generic job posting that states you have to be current and preferrably have time in type?

I find it hard to believe they just filled a class with 23 or so guys that are all already typed in a certain a/c.And are current.......maybe I'm wrong though?

I've got a couple corporate jet types, but doubt that DPJ has many 400's or X's....

Thanks....

As cheap as JS and the Puddle Pirate are? Very.

I believe it.

I think there were 3 x's and a few 400s...2-3 maybe?

I am sure there are a few DHL guys with WIA funds of the 23 new guys. Just got a 3rd Beechjet. I think there are 3 X's.

I left DPJ a while ago for a career job. They had 2 Citation Xs when I left. You know what they say about a monkey and a football, that's how this place is run. You will be sorry very shortly after you start. You have been warned, others had not heeded my warnings and they rue the day that they signed that 4 year revolving training contract.

Run Run Far Away

Yea.. the revolving training contract. You never get out from under the damn thing. Every recurrent they make you sign a new one. They want you to feel that if you leave they will come after you for $$$$$.

What's with the CP of Delta Air Elite? Kind of a strange guy. Very combative phone interview I had with him. Making me answer "yes sir" instead of "yeah" or "yup", etc. I should have told him I will answer "yes sir" when the starting salary at least gets into the 50's. :)

That wasn't the CP. That was probably Mr. Woods, the Dir. of Safety. He is former law enforcement and likes to see how candidates react under pressure. Regardless, a professional does not respond "yeah", "yup", "naw", and "nope" during interviews anyways. "Yes sir" and "no sir" should be common responses on an interview.

While I'm all for proper respect and courtesy, and agree responses should be "Yes" and "No" not "yup" and "naw"...requiring a candidate to address you as "Sir" in a job interview is stupid; correcting them if they don't is even stupider.

This isn't freshman year of college ROTC, this isn't a subordinate speaking with a senior officer in the military, and it isn't a police academy - its a civilian flying job, reportedly one that doesn't pay very well at that. Let's not make things more complicated than they need to be.

If you want the job, you jump through the hoops...every place of employment is like that. But you shouldn't have to stroke someone's ego during the consideration process...

When I was based next door to them at CVG flying freight I went to see Ed for a "pre-interview" for when a Lear FO spot came open. First thing he showed me was his diploma from the FBI academy. It was all downhill from there. I got the "yes sir" spiel too, but the kickers were the pay (35k to start with minimal raises) and the schedule (basically on call 24/7 the days you're on but don't have anything scheduled). When I asked how you could be on call like that under 135 he said and I quote "we're legal". What this really means is that if they don't call you're in rest, if they do pick up the phone and be a team player. I asked how it worked if they called at an odd hour or you had been awake forever since there's no schedule and the gist of it was you could turn down a trip if you were tired but the inference was if you did that it may be detrimental to your career there. Good stuff!
