I was offered a position there..
32k for f.o
5 year contract
little chance for upgrade
You have to cover other pilots vacation time and sim training events..
So basically no vacation is awarded..

It's a good company, I just couldn't afford to take the job.

If that's a "Good Company" I would sure hate to see the "Bad One"!

Is it legal to make someone sign a 5 year contract other then a reciprocal contract? So if they down size and release you after working there for 2 years do they owe you 3 years salary?

Nope. All planes are managed. Your plane may go away. So may your job. No vacation, no sick time, no job security. They owe you nothing. They have destroyed what was once a career company.

I helped a former pilot of mine who I had to layoff back in December to get a job there. While talking to the CP at Delta Private the FO starts at 40K with a bonus paid depending on the hours flown. Example last month the A/C he has been hired for flew enough that each pilot made an extra $4300. There are 2 crews per plane and the lead PIC sets the schedule each month but you will get the Min FAA required days off in the worse case. The job is mediocre at best but for a guy who is 57 yrs old and out of work for 5 months with no job prospects its a pay check.
