Crystal Ball and Magic 8 Ball are both saying that changes are coming from Delta regarding DCI cost structure and quality. ASA cost structure is high, but the good news is we don't suck as much as Pinnacle in the quality department....

Also, PBS isn't going away, but look for some changes regarding parts of it...

Major airlines change their regional partners more often than a senior wide body captain changes wives.

ASA was the first Delta Connection carrier. Started in 1984.

Just don't be at Comair and you will be fine.

Don't sell yourself short. ASA has more issues than just cost structure.

Yeah, nothing but bitchin' about ASA on FI and you say Pinnacle is worse? All regionals suck within a very small margin of each other I would say.

Any of us could be the next Comair...Comair was the example, and it sucks...However ASA could be the next Comair.....ALPA decided to ignore brand scope and this is the new reality.....

Bri5150, I will grant you the fact that no other pilot group bitches more on FI than ASA....It is a small disgruntled group with small units....They will never be happy in this business..

Ignoring this, ASA does better than some other regionals. However our cost structure is also higher...It's a balancing act at this point...

I wonder if that high cost structure has anything to do with lifer captains? Don't worry Joe first vote I get I will make you a 100 seat jet captain!

Your right Joe. There is change coming. Almost all DCI airlines out of ATL, and you thought it was bad news.
Oh that's right you live in ATL! Sorry. Welcome to DTW,MEM,IAD,& LGA!
P.s. ASA will still do 80 something % of what is left. Maybe ten flights?

Hearing some similar stuff regarding mem dtw and lga. But who is replacing the asa lift out Atl?

Per SH Delta will shift small lift toward MEM and smaller hubs from ATL when the new international terminal opens. ASA will retain 80% of the flying in ATL, but 80% of the flying will be much small than it is now.

ATL: The incredible shrinking base. Soon will require 12 years seniority to hold junior Capt, 4 years to hold junior FO. Big time life decisions for the pilots rooted in ATL upcoming!

Delta still seems convinced that everything big must go through atlanta. I learned something the other day that really bothers me. The largest operator at the DTW airport is not delta, its pinnacle. Thats right, pinnacle has more flights out of dtw than the carrier it flies for. This may be the case elsewhere as well but it shocked me to learn that

Welcome to DCI. That's been going on since the merger in CVG, MSP, and now MEM. Delta is slowly sending us all to DTW and JFK to die.

What about the west coast, seems like delta neglects everything west of the mississippi?

Only one city closing SLC-BTM (Bute, Montana) all the rest is just reductions 18% hit in SLC.
They keep adding more LAX routes slowly. LAX-OAK just started.

I have heard that DL wants to start feeding RJ service out West from DTW and east from ATL. Would be nice to see some West side flying again for ASA.

Yes, west side flying would be nice. West bases, too. The pay and QOL will have to rise significantly for me to tolerate this ping-ponging between cities fit for the set of a post-apocalyptic movie. Commuting has become nearly impossible and entirely stressful with the current loads. If ASA wants to keep pilots, they need to build some virtual domiciles in some (good) cities. It would save money for overnighting crew and its a cheap QOL booster. I can think of quite a few: ILM, TYS, CHA, LEX, AVL, SDF, etc, etc, etc.
