I was just called and asked to do some contract work. I'm not a contract pilot, I'm employed fulltime, and I don't want to undercut those pilots who depend upon contract work for their living. I'm just interested in picking up a little extra work.

What is a reasonable day rate for a Citationjet pilot, single pilot, for either 91 or 135? How are expenses treated? This is for a West Coast position.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Ditto, we pay $500. Good of you to think of those Independent Contract Pilots. You see a lot of full timers willing to take half the going rate, since its only "extra money to them.

Thanks, I was thinking 400, I'll up the ante to 500...

As a full time contract pilot I appreciate your concern for our segment of aviation. I agree $500/ day is about right. The companies I fly for pay that for Small Jet Capts and $250 - $300 a day for FO (untyped).

PS As a contract pilot, I'm always looking for more leads - any info in the PHL area is much appreciated.
