What would happen to the long term leases that NW has on those 17 200's. I doubt the bank would just say, sure we can just lease those to the other airlines beating down our door for 200's. They are not in BK. They can't just give them back to the bank. Now, if there is a deal with the bank to replace them with new 900 deliveries, then maybe.

Good point. Guess Mesaba will get the 900s simply because their block hour cost is lower.

That explains why ASA management is finding every way possible right now to cut cost besides furloughing pilots to make us more "cost attractive" to Delta....

Where is that coming from? I sincerely hope that's not the 'big announcement' that's supposed to have happened the past 31 Fridays in a row...

No source. Just my opinion that after the merger Mesaba will establish a base in ATL, especially with all the flying that will be shifted there.

Word on the street is Delta is using the Freedom 900s as bait to get rid of 50 seaters. Anyone who wants the planes can have them as long as they give up 2 50s per plane....

Most rumors say the planes are most likely headed to......Mesaba....

BS! At least as far as ASA is concerned as DAL OWNS around 35 or so of the ASA 200s. All they have to do is send them back if they wanted to, or any other type deal Delta wanted. They the boss. :D

Yep! It's all a ruse. Performance, reliability, loyalty....All that matters is block hour costs. Management want you to save money and perform well to up their bonuses. I am not advocating being a detriment to performance in any way, as my performance bonus depends on it too. Just calling it like it is.

You are correct that Delta can send them back if they want to. Hypothetically, they can only send back the number of planes it would take for ASA or ASA/SKYWEST (whichever one the contractual agreement says) to maintain 80% DCI flights in ATL.

If Skywest hadn't bought ASA we could possibly be in a Comair type situation right now...

I don't need to search the FAA database- I know what I saw......it taxied right in front of me. I still remember the anger I fealt. Say what you wish, what you found on the FAA website, etc- I know what I saw, and I know my aircraft types.

No Bull...There were SkyW 900s with EV tailnumbers. I taxied out behind two...and took pictures of both! Let me check...yup, they DID indeed exsist! Sorry the FAA (government) website led others to believe otherwise!

ASA's performance numbers are containing the hemoraging of flying. If our numbers drop, watch how fast the things disappear that have to do with our efficiency- ie. crew meals, drawer swaps, crew shuttle, etc. This place would be back to 2006 standards- and I don't think anyone wants that. Yes, people are bitching about new airplanes, but what no one is commenting on, is how we've managed to jump the shark and keep what we have, less the ATR's, and stayed away from furloughs.

It's offical- pilots will bitch about anything. Not wanting to put your birth date in the FMS- Gimme' a friggin break! Not like anyone cares enough to take note anyways. Upset because you are growing older and the FMS reminds you of that- the alternative to age progression sucks. That's right up there with rephrasing and calling the "cockpit" the "flightdeck". Good lord!

Here's what makes me laugh...totally off topic, but those who complained about putting their birthdates in the FMS must have NEVER looked at their SIDA badge...where their birthday is displaded on top! HA!

I was trying to figure out how to do that last night because I knew that question was coming...but for some reason, I seem to be having picture formatting issues between flightinfo and my computer. I'll keep trying though.
