I mean no insult here. I, like yourself, spent only a very little amount of time on line before the furlough(around 6 months). I had no idea the kind of rift between the pilot groups. We have the most liberal scope in the industry, your airline is getting 37 planes next year. Mine is furloughing, and shrinking.
I learned about the bitterness from these forums, and from talking to my friends at comair. You may notice that there are very few Delta pilots who write on all the message boards. I truly think there is a big misperception among the pilot groups. I think the majority of us would get along and try to come to some agreement. It just seems that it only takes a few crass statements or policies to cause an uproar with the masses.
I truely think this is going to severely hurt our groups relationships for a long time to come. I mean no harm, and do honestly wish you guys the best.

Well, no, that's the exact opposite of my way of thinking. But your response validates my main point that as long as folks are unwilling to set aside their emotional response to a difficult time throughout the industry, these issues will inevitably descend into a finger pointing exercise.
There has to be somebody to blame, and the Delta and Comair groups have picked their's out quite definitively.
As I said, having recently arrived at Comair, I haven't developed that innate dislike of the Delta pilot group that I occasionally run into here.
But your snide remarks do make them more understandable.
