There is a surplus of 727 ACMI lift right now which will increase exponentially when DAY closes. Where do you think there is enough flying for 15 727's? Not to mention the Express.Net 727's and A300's that will be looking for freight too.

It is truely amazing that all you young New hire 727 puke's all of a sudden have become Officianados and industry analyst's.
But to answer the question......Bax global wants to replace Capital Cargo's flying
by the end of the year apparently their proformance has droped to less than 96%for two consistant months.
My advise is to complete your training get on the line wait 6 months then you may be taken seriously.
maybe then you may have something to say!

Remmember Bob Dunton and company normally live in La La land ....that is when he is sober!

You're so right, after I took the checkride I thought I instantly knew everything!!! How dare I.... I don't know anything about this industry.

So BAX wants to replace CCIA? I'm glad GIANT KILLER told me so I can make plans now. You must be "in the know".

Personally, I don't care if I'm taken seriously or not. Doesn't really matter what some random guy from a message board thinks of my thoughts.

But I can't wait for that coveted 6 month mark where, according to you I will transcend to a level where people care what I have to say.

Talk to ya' in 6 months.....

Dude stop your childish rant and just relax and learn to fly this airplane. this is not Pinnacle airlines or some flyby night cargo Ops.
I've been doing this job for a while and i've seen you "new guys" come and go.
The six months i refered to is the average time it takes for the "average jo" to settle down and get comfortable with the 72 and the company.......It is also the average time before a 'newhire" moves on.!!!!
relax and have fun

Wow, we have some cynics here. Actually CAT is a "flybynight" cargo company, but its the best I can do for now. All of us know its a stepping stone, but its a pretty big stepping stone to something better, if you ask me. Our "good guys" move on straight to Fedex, Southwest, Airtran, etc. No commuter life for me, home based, airline tix paid for by the company, u tell me, why would I ever choose Pinnacle and sit in the right seat for 5 years and make peanuts, most likely commute as well. Call it what you want, but I want to choose my own lifestyle not be forced to live off nothing. By the way, the 727 will still be in use for a few more years at least, and they have plenty of other cargo contracts they can pick up. Capital will be replaced by Express.net for BAX. Most of this is common knowledge, I am surprised that the "in the know" guys have not read this in press releases themselves.

Now, which press release is it, exactly, that tells of Express.Net flying for BAX? If you have a link I'd like to see it.

Holy rusted metal batman, I have been at Cappy for six months and I think the same thing about the company as I did when I started. Is it UPS or FedEx? No.... Is it the best company to fly for? No, but it's pretty good the way i'm looking at it. Plus, you can't satisfy everybody. Is it a good place to get into the left seat of a 727 fairly quickly? Yes, if your qualified, motivated, and don't complaine like your on flightinfo. Is it a good place to call home? I think so, it paies my bills and gives me more time off than i've ever had before.

Cappy is a good outfit, but like everywhere else there will be unhappy people. Life is good here, but it IS AVIATION FOLKS! Things can change in an instant, but the near term looks pretty good over here.

Anybody get the idea that giant killer is the artist formerly known as Rhoid?

But to answer the question......Bax global wants to replace Capital Cargo's flying

Well all seeing giant killer, why are we running above 98.5% for the year, and did 100% in Febuary? If distress.net is going to take all our lift, why on why did they leave an airplane on the BAX ramp for two weeks and not fly it once with BAX freight? No doggy bones for ENA?

Tell us oh great eye of the sky, who pays your paychecks and is so much better to work with?

I love all the "Doom and Gloom" from the people "in the know"! CAT will own 15 727s by March of next year. They have bid on four 747s, you can see that is public in the press releases.

Please all knowing PFT god, Where are these press releses? And while i'm on you, how does it feel to be stuck below FL280? If you think Tony Romeo is an honorable guy, you should ask the former CAT guys over here at Cappy why they left? Maybe because he screwed them because to make room for the PFT guys? When you make Captain on the 727 over at CAT, then i'll listen to what you have to say.

First of all, it feels fine to be below 280, longer block time equals bigger paycheck. Secondly, all of these bottom feeder cargo ops have pissed off pilots too, we have some Capital guys here that swear the same about Cappy and its management. Third, no one has been laid off from here, we have had 3 fired, and they needed to be. We are still hiring, so PFT has nothing to do with it, besides they don't get too many guys willing to PFT. I have been here longer than most Captains, so what makes you think that I would know more about the company as a Captain? Grow up, and for the love of god, please never show off your sexy legs to us, don't fly in your shorts! PEACE!!

Let me get this straight... A guy from Custom makes a comment about Capital, and now you're being nasty about ENA? WTFO?? "Distress.net". Wow, you're a witty one.

What was that you said about complaining on flightinfo?

Menlo sucks

I can't wait for this Emery hub to shut down, it sucks anyway, there is much better flying out there. UPS can have it. What can brown do for me? Shut it down and let the rest of us improve the quality of our lives.

Dosen't Express.Net only have one or two 727's left? And they're getting rid of them to be all a-300's?

I think they have a couple more than that, but they're mostly used for the horse charters from what I've heard. When I talked to their HR dept. a couple of months ago they had no plans for growing the 727 fleet, but they weren't planning on getting rid of them either.

I believe there are 5 or 6 727's, and only one is used for horses. I've heard of no plans to get rid of them.

There you go again with this bad attitude thing............
It's not my fault....... but if you cant stand the heat or you dont like your employer then QUIT!!!! if you think that there is a greener pasture out there where you can make this kind of money to start then by all means MOVE ON!!! But don't wish everyone bad (or unemployment) because your'e having a bad day.... It's time all you new guys to wise up and understand the big picture instead of this dismissive and put down attitude that seems to permiate the waves these days.

What the heck is so wrong with paying for your FE ticket? Can anyone generate a list of companies that will hire you as an FE and take care of your ticket? Seems like you have to have the rating to get a job nowadays.

Well, they used to pay for it when the 3 pilot planes were still being widley used like they were back in the day. When the Legacy Airlines all had the 707's, 727's, DC-10's, L10-11's, alot of newhires started in the FE seat, even though they also had PFE's. My father had to start as a 727 and DC10 engineer with AA, and AA paid for his ticket. When I got my first 727 freight job, I had zero large jet time, and that company paid for my FE ticket.
