There are 11 IAI I think (I'm too lazy to go look them up right now) and about 40 or so limitations that need to be memorized. Training isn't hard but it does require putting some effort in. So far I have no complaints. Systems training is all computer based and is pretty good from what I've seen so far.

Nethan is correct, 11 immediate action items. 3 of those are the same thing though "masks and 02" so really there are 9. We are expecting a big revision to the POH soon though I'm not sure if there will be any changes to Emergency Procedures. The new checklists are rolling out already so be looking for that those of you in training.

Congrats you guys and welcome aboard. Study hard! we need you! BAD!!! Your with a great company flying an ever greater airplane. Just enjoy it. I've been here just over a year and have met people that I will be friends with for life. Any questions feel free to PM me.

AH YES, PSA has been great to me, being a small company (for now, there's always hope) you really become good friends with alot of people and it is nice to see the same people over again, with the exception of a few (that usual 5%) Planes are great, co-workers are great, and whatever happens after the merger is complete PSA could be the best gamble for pilots....so roll the dice

that is all

yes it is. I talked to the chairman of our ALPA jumpseat committee a few weeks back. He said the company has already agreed to participate in CASS, the funding for the infrastructure hasnot yet been authorised yet though. Apparently someone has to physically hook up a computer data base of the active PSA pilots to the CASS system so a gate agent can look you up.

I can't say enough good about the PSA interview experience.

I hope I will get the chance to hang my hat there long term.

Thanks Chief!

What I'm finding funny about PSA is how long things take, as compared with every other regional. Their class dates are a month to a month and a half out from the interview dates, everyone else is running 2 maybe 3 weeks.

PSA is backed up in training; most places have done this recently, if not currently. Last summer Eagle, XJT, CHQ and TSA had everybody and their uncle trying to get into EMB sims all over the country. I knew one guy that waited TWO MONTHS between systems and sim last year, and one guy who waited at least that long just a couple months ago.

We actually have caught up for once, It's called planning! :) Although things change daily and we could need 10 more people yesterday...It's the airline biz, who knows. When we were hiring 4 per month we instructed HR to continue interviewing and filling the future classes so I am not in the position like we were in last summer of Interviewing on Wednesday and Thursday, for class the following Monday. Makes for difficult things, I like to give the Interviewee the chance to give 2 weeks notice, with the hopes they'll do the same when they leave here. I know we'll lose a few people that want to start yesterday, but that's OK, plenty of fish in the sea.

as "boiler up" has said, we are having problems finding add'l Sim time with the add'l upgrades and new hires with other carriers buying CRJ's, Sim time is becoming harder to come by. Apparently we have contracted additional Sim time in Montreal with Bombardier.

a blow up doll would be a good idea since the flight attendants are hideous.

Is PSA hiring? Sounds like I might be missing out on some hot action over there? Does PSA have many?

I just didn't want to jump to any conclusions, He simply asked if PSA had many......many f/a's? pilots? airplanes? bases? what...many what?????/ :)

Okay so I will take the van to the laundry down the street, see if I can find a new liver on E-Bay, and make a visit to the nearest adult shop for a blow up doll before I leave next Sunday. Are these all things I should bring with me to orientation on Monday morning? :)

Hey Weasil, is that a Chipmunk or Bulldog?

No and No. Well if you want to put the sim time on your log you can do that. I put mine in there just for currency but make sure it goes in the sim section only.

I guess some people count that as real airplane time, which it isnt.

If at all humanly possibly, bring a car. Chances are that others in your class will have a car, but it's no fun to have to rely on them. Training is long and sometimes you just have to get out of the hotel for a while. If it's not possible, you'll be fine, but you might suffer from cabin fever after a while.

truth to the rumor?

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about PSA being sold to AWAC?
Some friends of mine at AWAC said that, that is a new rumor going on there.

I haven't heard anything from the people I know at AWAC and my buddy at HP said that they are actually looking foward to having the USX wholely owned's in the company.
