Isaid it before and I'll say it again, I can't believe you Airtran guys aren't beating down Joe's door to get this flying and RJ's on your list.

Looks like the APU is already busted too. Why are the engines on the rj off white while the 717's are green? Check the last pic. Why do they call it "AirTran jet connect", Why no just airtran, the customer doesn't care? Their almost the same aircraft anyway.

Those are some brilliant, insightful comments LearLove. But, unfortunately, you've confused the peon that I am. Maybe you could clue me in just this once: Who is Leo?

Thank you!

S.

Reason

How about it is called connect because it is not AirTran it is a feeder of AirTran. This is an important legal distinction.

This experiment probably would not happen if the doors were beating with people wanting to add to regular airline. I can only guess that you meant Joe Leonard not Leo Mullins.

You think that this would be added when all the majors are getting out of regionals not into.

Who's flying the plane?

I'll go ahead and show my ignorance and ask. Are ya'll (Airtran) pilots doing the flying for Jet Connect or is it farmed out to a Regional?

"feed" Its a term thats blurred and almost invisable. What do you call it when I take the Airtran CRJ (aka Air Wiss) from ALT to SAV and back. I never went on "mainline" Airtran so I didn't feed crap, and do you actually think pax are like "i'm going from SAV to ATL on a "feeder flight"". Another example I fly Mr Bussiness guy frm CMH to PIT. My next leg is PIT to BGM and here comes the same Mr. Bussiness guy. Is that feed? What about PAX -a from SCE to PHL to ISP. All allegheny dash 8, where's the feed? I see It almost every day. And do the pax say "i'm on a feeder flt. (yea tell them that and they think their getting a meal), no they say "I'm on a US Air prop flight from SCE to ISP."

head in the sand

Anyone who thinks an RJ is feeding a Mainline carrier has had their head in the sand for the last five years. Compare a CRJ's range withthat of the 717.
C'mon when are we gonna get smart and call an RJ what it is, the replacement jet.

No it should not be called feed. It should be called what it is...stolen jobs!!

LearLove....

Apparently, the AirTran pilot group and their union have no problem with this arrangement, as they see it as a way to maximixe the use of their 717s and whatever larger aircraft come on the property in the next couple of years....instead of dedicating a 717 or DC-9 to a low traffic market such as SAV - ATL or TLH - TPA. If you have a problem with the USAirways/WO situation...fine. It doesn't mean the rest of the world is in the same boat. IOW.....MYOB.

And Mr. Aviation...

You are simply on the IGNORE list. Your posts are nothing but flame bait......always. Go find another sand box in which to play.

Back to the original post, thank goodness they are taking that thing back to the paint shop. Looks really bad! A agree the green color on the back should start sooner, Maybe a color that isnt so OFFWHITE, thats like OFF OFF WHITE, ALmost brown! yikes!
Congrats on the flying air wis.

Trainerjet,

fine take the 717 off the low pax routes, put on a CRJ , DASH8, 1900 or whatever just make it your own pilots in the cockpit. I mean what do we all want as airline pilots? Seniority (yes I know among hott women and $$$ ect) It means everthing to us. And if you were at Airtran now and they put an RJ on the list it would mean more senority for you. You wouldn't see it unless things got bad (the new hire would have to fly it) so I don't understand why the Airtran guys don't want the flying for themselves.

Put it this way, If Allegheny ( my airline) were the "mainline" and the 37 seat dash was the 747 of the industry and my bosses said Learlove were getting 30 cessna206's(8 seats, the rj of the industry in this example) to expand and feed or dash flying.

Now say I'm a dash capt at 150 out of 400 pilots(before adding the 206). I'd be like sure boss stick them here and hire more pilots. (say thoes 25 206's require 120 new pilots) Now I'm 150 out of 520. And there you have it, more senority, protection, options ect. not only for me but the rest at Allegheny. See what I'm getting at.

Its not a "a problem with the USAirways/WO situation...fine" its basic job protection.

BTW what does "IOW.....MYOB" mean.
