i might agree to let them pay the 14k and then pay them back if i were to leave for another job within the two years. i might do that- if i was desperate. they have obviously had some trouble keeping people in the past, which speaks to the quality of the operation. just stay on the path you are on -p121. bottom feeder operations are a dime a dozen. if you were talking about a really good p91 operation, then my opinion might be different.:)

Is this what you are saying?!?

Start $14000 in the hole. First year $39000.
$39000-14000=$25000 + $7000 (half of training) + $12000 (That's 2 6mo bonuses)

= $ 44,000, then in 6 mo, total 1.5 yrs, you'd cap out at $50,000
.
TAKE THE JOB

4th yr pay at ASA on a CR7 might clear you $40000.
Southside

Those are $6k raises, not bonuses. Sounds like $35k after the first year, though your pay rate will be $51,000.

up front = -$14,000
1st 6m = +$19,500
2nd 6m = +$22,500
1 yr = +$7,000

I'm here for math tutoring if anyone needs it.

What happens to your 14K if they no longer need you between now and 24 months??

Any company that makes you pay for your own training is a sh!tty ass company!!

Still a $hitload better than going to Colgan or Allegiant though.

If you don't like Allegiant, why do you keep PMing me asking for a recommendation??

Anyone know if you can block PMs???

Because I want dont want people to know that I really want to work for a bottom of the barrel operation making a third of what I make now. Please dont let anyone know. I just want to fly a big jet and tell people I'm a real pilot now, and look down on those little kids flying barbie jets and puddle-jumpers and tell them how bad they suck cause they arent an SIC in a "Thooper 80".

-Its people like you that are bringing this industry down working for such low pay with "shiny jet" syndrome. (Often posted by chperplt)

Well, flying a MD80 for less than 39K a year is what I would consider the same as a 20 year old flying an RJ for 18K a year. So it appears as if you are not only a hypocrite, but also really do have a small d!ck as well. (as your wife has confirmed with me on our midnight rondezvous')

That is like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford.... I would go with the G-IV. You will really love the airplane. Being above the airlines is a great way to fly!!!

It is also cool being below the airlines! (A-10)

Yep. Pretty much. You'll talk down to everyone who believes they are bettering themselves in their professional life all the while defending yourself for doing the same by taking a job at one of the lowest paying MD80 outfits in the industry. But you did it for the quick upgrade, and to be based where you live, etc...etc...etc. The same reasons others do what they do. But of course, that's different.

Who's the putz? That big-time MD80 driver in the mirror haulin' down those big bucks. He!!, maybe when you get that quick upgrade you might even break $70/hr as an MD80 Captain.

OK....well go watch your kickass TV or take that sweet boat out for a spin, and stop being such a corksucker on flightinfo.com

Oh, and I made $83,000 flying my little airplane last year. I have cool things too, but am not vain enough brag about them while there are people reading who can't afford to eat anything other than ramen noodles and white bread.

Dude, ever since you left Colgan you've really become a holier-than-thou finger-pointer. It's truly staggering that you are so down on someone who's just starting out... Maybe someday he can get hired at Comair and not be the pond scum you now see him to be. There are only so many slots over your way, you know, and not everyone can get on at one of the top-paying companies right off the bat, as you so amply prove. Most of us have strong opinions about the "not paid in training" thing over at Pinnacle, but most of us also keep our mouths shut. What, exactly, are you proving by stuffing your boot in this guy's rear?

I dont have a dog in this fight, this is an honest question. How does anyone pay for two cars who's value exceed the annual salary. Not to mention the house etc. I really want to know because I am paycheck to paycheck.

The G-4 job sounds great right up to the point they want you to pay for your own training. If they are afraid you cant get through training you can agree to pay for it if you dont get through or something. Pay for training is wrong on all levels. And it says alot about a company that believes in it.
