Heard a rumor once again at work that bombardier has an order of 15 crj 1000's for an undisclosed buyer. Now I hear that it's going to Sky West for flying they plan to contract into Mexico for SW? Mind you, this is all hear say for me so i'm just looking for some Sky West folks to chime in. Anybody else hear about this?
 
don't know about the CRJ1000 but GECAS has an order for 25 Chinola RJ's (90 to 100 seater, a copy of the 717). They do not say who they are going to lease them too.

(ACAC) is to supply Irish-American aircraft lessor GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) with up to 25 General Electric CF34-powered ARJ21-700ER regional jets starting in 2013 under a contract signed today at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai. The agreement, China’s biggest in both unit numbers and value, is worth some five billion Chinese yuan (about $730 million).

ACAC claims to hold “commitments” for a total of 206 of the twinjets, which can be configured to carry from 70 to 95 passengers. Originally scheduled to fly last March, the 1,390-nm ARJ21 is now expected to take off for the first time this month. Certification had been previously scheduled for next month, though this now seems very unlikely.

GECAS signed the contract with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), a state-owned company in which AVIC I is a major shareholder, along with four other companies. Comac plans to develop larger airliners that could carry more than 150 passengers, misleadingly dubbed "jumbo" designs by Chinese officials

They don't tell us anything at Skywest. We usualy read about it in the papers before we hear about it from our own, If it happens at all.

I heard comair will get them but SW will fly them!! For those of u at SW that think You will fly them for Southwest that was a joke. Funny usually the southwest rumors only come around when u guys have a vote. even better u fall for it everytime!!!

Don't get me wrong, I don't hope that they come here, Tho we would get a pretty good pay bump and create some "job security", I don't believe that aircraft has any business at a regional airline, It's like a DC-9
 
It ain't gonna happen, so don't worry about it. They could not steal that scope limit from us in ch 11, they ain't gonna get it now. Don't underestimate the anger at all of the majors.





Don't get me wrong, I don't hope that they come here, Tho we would get a pretty good pay bump and create some "job security", I don't believe that aircraft has any business at a regional airline, It's like a DC-9

Riiight....Like we were never going to see any 70-seaters or 50-seaters or any jets at all or anything bigger than an S330.

I don't want to see 100-seaters at regionals, but never say never.
 
Its not going to happen. I will say it now. 70-76 is all you will get. The bottom quarter of all the major seniority list has either been furloughed or stagnated due to the outsourcing. We are not in a giving mood. Unless you are a lifer, this will benefit you.

I'd have to say he's probably right. Usair mainline flies the 190 as does JetBlue. You will see all 100 seaters from here on out at mainline. The problem is the mainline rates for these aircraft are not mainline rates. They are a "cross-breed" between regional and mainline payrates. This was what was given to draw a hard-line in the sand.

Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Republic is flying 86 seat E175's. I know this because I fly one for them ;) !! You don't know what the future holds for our industry and your not in a position to make business decisions that would effect this situation. All you do is drive the bus like the rest of us. I am not saying that 100 + seats is guaranteed to end up at the regional level, But I will say that It would not surprise me if it does. If upper management wants to let it happen it will happen regardless of your opinion or anyone Else's. Why, because it is business ,plain and simple.!!!!!

On a side note, it's another by-product of USAirways' ********************ty product that makes the E175 an 86-seat jet. The legroom in that thing is freaking HORRENDOUS. Funny how everyone else is flying around 2-cabin 175s with far more legroom even in coach... leave it to US to ******************** up a good thing.

Speaking as someone flying the 100-seater at a "quasi-major" I hope the jets stay on mainline property. You guys do realize that currently NO major's scope clause allows 100-seat jets off the reservation, right? Regardless of what "upper management wants" I don't see a single pilot group relinquishing 100-seat scope.
 
Who's codeshare is this allowed on? I guarantee you will not see anything over 70-76 seats at AA,CAL, or DAL. We are done outsourcing our flying. In the past they threw enough money and benefits our way to by off enough of the votes. After the destruction of our contracts post 9/11 and the ensuing transfer of flying to 50 seaters we have learned our lesson. We have seen what the transfer of wealth/career carnage the 50 seaters did and it WILL NOT happen again. Count on it. We don't give a ******************** what mgmts business plan is.

Cobraair: The CRJ-900 and E175 are both operated with 86 seats by Freedom and Republic, repspectively, under the US code.
 
And they will still have a higher average W2 at the end of the year then any other Regional group.
Uh-oh you guys are not going to start comparing W-2s are you?
