Hey everyone,

I was just wondering what it would cost me to rent a plane for a few days. When you rent a plane, do you pay a fixed amount per day, or do you only pay each hour your flying. I was planning on renting a plane on a Friday, and flying back Monday. Overall I would probably only fly, at most 4 hours, but I would have the plane for about 3 days. The plane would be a C172.

Thanks for your help

I used to rent planes for a couple of days at a time down in FXE. The FBO I rented from just required you to reserve the plane a few weeks in advance and you were required to pay a minimum of 2 hours flight time for each day you had the plane. You can probably find a local FBO that has some sort of deal like that.

The school i know has a 4 hr minimum a day - that is you pay for 4 hours, regardless if you fly it or not.

And about your question regarding cost...

Going from KPDK to - KGMU it would be roughly 2.5 hours on the hobbs to fly there and back.

AND IF you are going to pay for the 4 hours each day for 4 days, even though you only plan to fly four hours in those 4 days, you sure as heck better fly all 16 hours.

Hypothetically!
