Adam?

Hey guys,
I'm an old friend of Adam. Is he still CP there?

read the thread, the whole thread!

First things first;

Good morning, Fred. How was your (long) weekend?

ChrisJ, if you were as smart as you think you are (or as smart as Jacques Kerry thinks HE is) would you still be working at a half-bit airline like 3C?

Belch, if Looneyworld is the LAST HQ department you hold in high esteem, then I really hope your scheduler doesn't read about it here. Who knows who else has hurt feelings about that, too. Not everybody in MQY is a toady, you know. And sucking up to Jetscreamdriver? You must have a PC coming up, or recurrent, or both.

If you guys are really serious about changing ANYTHING at 3C, you have to hit them where they think. In the wallet, about two inches further aft than you were thinking they thought from. Now come on, if you wanna b**ch, then b**ch, but if you are gonna try and get some real change, then act, don't talk.

Just a few meandering thoughts of dubious value. And no, you can't leave ....

10early?

P.S.(Goodbye Fred)
10early,

The politics were beaten into the iraqui (sp?)
sand a few pages back!

MX, SKED, Passes (God bless Leann for doing
the 12 or so extra jobs she isn't being paid to
do) the gsas, well, we're all in the same turnip
press! Geeze, as individuals we have some of
the best! We are liable to not have any
schedulers at all if things keep going like they
are! MX is short of parts, a/c keep showing
up in STL broke, blah, blah and etc!

I spiked jetscreem driver pretty hard and
didn't mean to...I gave him some pretty
blunt advice. The fact remains that we
have a shrinking experience pool and it
is going to get tougher to get/keep the
same quality of people for the training
department as we have had in the past
and it will be hard to maintain the
standards (which are the only thing
that haven't changed for the worse
here). He is just another person that is
liable to get screwed here very shortly,
and has some really big shoes to fill!
My concern is valid and genuine. The
question remains. Do we and will we
staff the training department with same
quality of people that were there?
Is it even possible? Can we maintain
the standards? I sure hope so!

Thanks for getting my back ChrisJ32!

without continuing the politics thing again...

didn't the baseball team end up
doing better and will kerry (like
clinton) if elected, take full responsiblity
for the (regardless of how shaky) recovery
that is underway?

$hit i wasn't going to do that! d@mnit!

Do I need to make some calls? Was I led
down the path again? Geeze that would
piss me off!

roger over under done out!

Maybe, and who can blame him? And I would bet that Heiz won't get a no bid multi billion dollar deal to supply ketchup to Iraq.......does Halliburton ring a bell here??
Maybe for BBQ sauce to put on roast camel?

Left or right or pretending to be in the middle
politics is a good-old-boy network. Should we
suffer the misfortune of kerry, he will have favors
to pay off too. Wonder where the liberal press
will be then?

d@mmit i did it again!

pace airlines welcomes 4 new corporate j32 drivers

i met the 4 of the 8 new dudes from corporate in the new hire class at pace. welcome aboard!

Adam?

Now that you political windbags have died down, back to my post that nobody replied to.....

Is Adam still your CP? If so, how is he doing? I'm an old college friend from Mitsu and just curious.

flyboycpa

(BTW, all your political ranting and raving will not convince people to switch to your party favorite, their minds are made up---take the conversation elsewhere!)

(You guys were proud that you had 8 or 9 pages for Corpex, but 6-7 of them were George/John bashing!)

i jumped on corp. ex. in the 90's and the guys were super cool to me. still know a couple folks there. sorry to hear it is as bad as what i have been reading (pay, schedule, qol). i had no idea.

I don't know how we have kept so many of the good people for so long,
but things have been going downhill since the loss of the RDU base...seems
like the only way to improve the bottom line is to take from the ones that make
the place run...not get more business in planes that people aren't repulsed by!

What a wonderful day for A BBQ?

Let me just set some things straight. YES the weather was great today and NO. Mangement did not fully answer the questions we had. Well. Thats about the GIST of it. No pay raises and no idea if Ron Pye is going to do any good for this company. My sugestion is to UNITE. Now I know that management will look at the boards and think that I am just a troublemaker but, the time really has come to stand togeather. I was hoping for some answers to some hard questions that were asked but again it seems that Doug Caldwell did a tap dance around the issue and did not adequately address the topic at hand. The Biggest concern I have is with Mr. Pye. It may be apperent that in 5-6 months from now, We do not need Ron, Nor is he getting any new business.

Well that all sounds fine and well but the fact remains that PYE is taking money out of this company that could go to the pilots.

But what do I know ?

Lets just see if "BIGGER THINGS ARE COMING" (Doug Caldwell quote) .. But I have heard the same song and dance for along time now. I guess it is time for this customer to give up on the "BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL" and look for a pasture that is greener.

As a side note. To all of management that reads the boards here. It was nice to see everyone in STL for once. I hope that this is not just some circus stunt that was pulled because you folks think that the pilot group is upset. Try to make it up here a little more offten and let us atleast think that you are interested in what is going on with the largest group of employees that you have.

To all of the pilots out there . There is strength in numbers, Now is the time to take back what is rightfully yours . everyone should be on the 33/hr pay scale.

And they still have no idea on how
to keep people more than four months!
I guess that it is cheaper to train people
than give raises/civilized per diem.

big surprise...NOT!

WOW! Haven’t been here for a while and didn’t expect to see that many comments on this board. Then again, I’m not really very surprised…

First of all, I agree with most of the stuff being written here. We have been underpaid, overworked, etc, etc for years. Personally, I knew what I was getting into when I signed up for it. I just never knew it would last this long L.

Every now and then I remember being asked during our interviews why I was painting such a negative picture of Corpex to prospective new hires and why was I trying to talk them out of working for 3C? Well, I always thought it’d be better to prepare them for the worst; and if it turned out to be better than they expected, well than I was just very happy for them.

Not sure why I decided to give y’all my 1¢ worth of thoughts. Maybe because I’ll never forget the “unique” working atmosphere at 3C, maybe because I’ll never forget the guys who worked 2-3 jobs to make the ends meet just to able to call themselves “airline pilots.”

I remember guys working part-time jobs delivering pizza’s, working at Home Depot, Wall-Mart, and yes every now and then applying for food stamps. [No, I am NOT exaggerating, I remember those guys working their a***s off so they could pay rent, send a child support check, or whatever. I remember the embarrassment on the f/o’s face when he found out he WAS indeed eligible for food stamps for his family. Embarrassed and relieved at the same time.]

I will always think of Corpex pilots (and other employees too) as some of the most dedicated, hard working professionals out there. How will I ever forget people like Gary McDowell (sorry to mention names but I thought it’d make it easier to explain my point here). I mean, the guy gets furloughed shortly after being hired (for more than a year!); he keeps working 2-3 different jobs while patiently waiting to be recalled to his $17/hour (!) airline pilot job - yet the guy NEVER stops being friendly to others, NEVER stops smiling - hell, maybe some drugs were involved, what do I know? ;)

The guy keeps driving between Atlanta and Nashville, back and forth, every week. Not just on days he’s supposed to be working, but also whenever scheduling asks for his help. He isn’t really helping scheduling department though; he is just helping out his friends who happen to work as schedulers. He is also making it possible for other pilot friends to take a day off every now and then for whatever personal reasons. (Because we all know there is no such thing as “drop-trip” anymore – now you must plan your family emergency in advance – preferably two weeks in advance if you really want it to be approved) Again, the guy NEVER stops smiling even though he knows it’ll be a looong time before he’ll have a chance to upgrade and join the big league pay of $28/hr (!) Gary is just one of the guys and unfortunately Corpex lost him not too long ago.

My point is that Corpex is full of people like Gary; you all know it because you see them around you every day. I know it sounds like I am preaching here but I have to say I already miss that camaraderie. You guys don’t have a whole lot right now but please be proud of the people you work with because you’ll probably never experience anything like it again.

On a happier note :D

I am glad there are 6 ex 3C’ers here at Pace now and I am working hard on bringing in more of y’all. Rob just finished his sim. training; Kevin, Jimmy, John, and Rick are in their first week of INDOC. Hell, if it was up to me, I’d pretty much hire every one of you (the ones who’re interested that is) – I’d have to keep my seniority number here of course :)

“Jetscreamdriver - First off instructors with no turbine time are usually the strongest pilots we get, not check haulers. I can say this cause I've been been traing our folks for a few months now and I've seen this.”

»»»
“Belch - You don't have the depth of experience to make that statement! And while I made a generalization, and have flown biatch to some former instructors that were
amongst the best CA's that corpex will ever have, none were MTSU flowthroughs.”

-- Well, I really respect you guys but I must disagree with you both on this one. I am almost embarrassed to admit it, but I did the “training thing” at 3C for 3+ years and in my humble opinion it didn’t really matter what the pilots’ backgrounds were; whether they were flight instructor or check haulers. Of course, the guys who’d done it both were usually doing just a little bit better than others but not always. I think attitude meant more than anything, if they were interested and willing to give it 100% they all seemed to do well, regardless of one’s flight background. That’s just my observation of course, I might be totally wrong.

“High time people suck sometimes, and low time people suck sometimes.”

-- Totally agree

“belch - jetscreamdriver…You really do have big shoes to fill,
I know those guys!”

-- I agree but I also think he’ll fill in those shoes just fine and very soon he’ll make them’ shoes even bigger! I’ve known the guy for years, have no doubt he’ll excel! (just wish he'd peel off that annoying bumper sticker on his car - lol)

ChrisJ32 – I’ll leave out all the political stuff because I think this board is mainly about our pilots’ plight. However, I was reading some of your comments about gun control, taxes, etc, etc, etc. Did I mention etc? lol

…and I thought, isn’t it ironic how someone like you who’s born and raised here in the States prefers “the other way”, yet someone who’d experienced “the other way” prefers the American way? I‘m not picking on you, not at all; I just think it’s so ironic I find myself defending the gun laws, the tax system, etc, of the US, while you sort of defend the L’european way of thinking :)

I might not agree with you on everything but I still luve you man J

(one thing we DO have in common - I like ketchup too! :D

By the way; Good Evening Fred! I almost forgot to say hi to you ;)

Sorry 'bout the looong essay & all the smiley faces...

HomeY ;) :p

AV8TOR my man...

having had my flamebait-proof suit severly scorched has given me time
to consider my rant and you picked out some good quotes...but you missed
one "yours is the last one that I hold in high esteem." Which kind of
eliminates the premis of the whole rant, because the training dept has done
such a good job af taking people from all kinds of backgrounds and turning
them into a "pool of highly experienced, motivated..." blah etc.

So to include everyone in the trenches here at corpex I am just going
back to what I started off with...

"I have never seen so many good people wasted so badly."

Have fun with all them Hooters!

See ya:)

Belch...

"PS Just sent my resume to Susan. Care to put in a word?"

Me Too! Should also be making a trip there monday...

J32...
Are we not in a way all a son of a bush?

hehehe

Belch

“P.S. Just sent my resume to Susan. Care to put in a word??”

-- Absolutely, email me your latest update too. Unfortunately, Susan has been sort of taken out of the loop lately. The man in charge runs the hiring part on his own now but it’s still all good. I’ll make sure he sees what he needs to see :)

“...but you missed one "yours is the last one that I hold in high esteem." Which kind of eliminates the premis of the whole rant, because the training dept has done such a good job af taking people from all kinds of backgrounds and turning them into a "pool of highly experienced, motivated..."

Oops, you are right, I missed that part, sorry about that. I agree, the training department has and always will be “the only bright light” at 3C. I wish there was a B2 (and a B1) at every airline in the world.

“Have fun with all them Hooters!” :D

"I have never seen so many good people wasted so badly."

How ‘bout:

Never have so many been abused by so few & for so long?

Hey what was the quote I saw in the in the crew room a while ago about the light in tunnel being a train or something? I liked it…

HomeY ;)

Hi Fred… :p

“Me Too!"

Oops Belch, saw your post after posting mine.

Absolutely 2 U 2! If you don’t have my email address, either PM me for it or ask ChrisERJ ;) I know he has it. I’ll do my best.

"Should also be making a trip there monday...”

Just found out yesterday – they prefer now if people don’t just show up there anymore without clearing it with them first. Not sure if someone didn’t do a good impression on them or if they're just too busy; I’ll try to find out what’s going on? Check with Rick, got this info from him.

HomeY :)

Hi Fred... ;)
Hey Fred!

Oops, but (name deleted) didn't seem upset...seemed to be a nice meeting

See ya

Had to call our training manager earlier this morning about some paper work and while I was at it I BS'ed him :) into interviewing another 3C guy.

C.M. is interviewing tomorrow afternoon. Y'all wish him good luck, he got plenty of recommendations here but you never know.

Also, working on possibly stealing a scheduler or two from you guys too ;) Dispatch might be the next project, lol.

Heck, maybe in the near future we'll be switching our name to HOOPEX? :D

"…what prior aircraft experience does make you qualified to fly a J32 for $17/ hour. Maybe a whopping dutchess or…....gear_guy”

What are you tryin’ to say “gear_boy?” What’s wrong with the dutchess?

I guaranD**Ntee you a dutchess can teach you the importance of bringing the gear down (and up too) ;) Based on your screen name, I believe you’ll always remember how to do that won’t you?

Dude, I’m happy to hear things are going well 4 u. Make sure you look me up next time you’re in town, I’ll buy you some hot wings (after all, I get my discount there now - lol)
Take care, HomeY

Corpex rumor

Unsubstantiated...

There is rumor of some kind of name
change/reorganization to "Regions Air".
No word from HQ...

Av8tor, you may want to get with all the
guys over there and start doing even more
recommendations!

Good luck to C.M.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were two sayings posted about the
light...
1) "You know that it's bad when you realize the
light at the end of the tunnel is the headlamp of
an oncomming train."

2) "Due to financial constraints the light at the
end of the tunnel has been turned off untill further
notice."

The "good people" quote is a corruption of a line
from the good, the bad and the ugly. I like your
modification of the Churchill saying also!

See ya,

Good one.....Considering you were my CFI, I'm not sure I want to debate you. You know too much about me!!!

However, I think if you read my entire post, it is pretty clear what I am saying. I have no shame that I flew a dutchess. I will be the first one to admit that I learned more on that airplane (thanks to AV80R) than anything up to that point. And that was my point. I was responding to someone who was complaining about coming from MEI'ing on the dutchess to CorpEx. I was simply defending that as a decent way to enter the industry. BTW AV80R....It worked for you. Now you are livin the hot wing dream!!!!:)

BTW AV80R- Do you have any beverage hook-ups, or is the emp. disc. limited to chewables???:p

PS- Do you still hang out with our creative writing teacher on the weekends?;)

Talk 2 ya soon
