Hey dash-
l- and herb is a democrat- and that's all the argument I need
Have a good day all

Wave, you love to throw Herb being a Democrat out. There is a HUGE difference between a 1970's/1980's TEXAS Democrat and the current Saul Alinsky radical government run by your man Obama. Congress getting more involved in our markets is definitely not the answer.

Happy New Year Brother!

Preach on brother!

Geeze Wave,

You are a piece of work now aren't you. You don't like my posts on another thread so you just have to come on here and try to pick a fight.

Grow up why don't you. I have news for you, your life will always be worse than someone else.

Geeze Dash-
There you go- changed my signature so that you won't take everything so personal-
Maybe if you were a democrat flying with all the uber-aggressive "conservatives" at SWA, you'd have thicker skin.
Maybe?

It's conservatives that tend to pick on liberals, not the other way around- but I don't back down from what I actually think to make you feel better-

This has nothing to do with any other thread- can't copy and paste the PDF, but did you read Mr Ridley's testimony I posted? He's our senior vp of marketing and revenue mgmt and that link is his official testimony on the matter- a quick read, and a good read on the issue if you want to know where SWA stood-
I was not up to date on how the nprm has changed and JonJuan called me on it- he was right and my info was old- but if bag and change fees were included in the law, we would be supporting it, and we were the one airline that really contributed to the law-

All the other generalizations are silly- ALl regulation is not bad- and you guys lose credibility when you think it is

Can anyone point to where in the Constitution the Federal Government gets the authority to do this?

The interstate commerce clause. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3.

"To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;"

My post was pretty bland. But I do agree that you are a condescending jerk. It falls in line with your way of thinking.

Jeez.... condescending and stupid!
"You just prioritize your decision making process with emotions."

See that implies that my opinions or positions are based on emotions and not fact and as a result are invalid.

That is condescending and dickish. I'm ok with that. I'm a jerk too!

Then why is he still a democrat?

You guys like to get nostalgic- democrats in the 80's were WAY more liberal than Obama- get off your crack attack Fox news as your only source and you'd see that liberals are disapproving of Obama bc he hasn't been liberal enough and acquiesced too much to republicans

Geeze Dash-

After wasting 30 minutes of my life that I'll never get back, watching PMSNBC, the only thing I can say is that, "you're wrong!";)

Preach on brother!

Lack of regulation is why there is a huge mass in the 99% protesting the 1%. All your beloved government politicians, (whoever they may be), don't regulate beacuse they work for the big banks and Wall St. that don't want to be held by any rules for 'fair play'.

This is where you are wrong! They do regulate on behalf of their corporate overlords.

Congress in response to consumer complaints about confusion on ticket pricing has passed a law to ....

Fact check.

Congress has not passed a law.

There was a bill introduced in the Senate. And there was a bill introduced in the House.

Both have been referred to committees which is the normal process. Many bills are introduced and never see the light of day. I have both bills on my tracker list and there's no action. Oh, why? Because Congress went home.

Are you stupid or just ignorant son?

There are currently 72,536 pages in the US Tax Code and 82,590 pages in the Federal Registry.

This doesn't include State Laws (of which there are 50), county laws (3,141), and the roughly 19,000 incorporated areas (cities) with municipal laws and ordinances.

Where, pray tell, is this "lack of regulation"?

Ohhh...and...to intimate you're a Democrat...vs....actually voting Democrat....two different things.
How you vote publicly (money, lobbying efforts, to gain influence, etc...;),;)), versus how you vote privately (behind that curtain).....well.....:D

Can anyone point to where in the Constitution the Federal Government gets the authority to do this?

The Constitution is a general guide, a vague reference point, kinda like the painted centerline on a runway.

No I'm not, you are!

Southwest and others fighting new airfare price rule
Jacksonville Business Journal by Michael Clinton, Web Producer
Date: Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 9:14am EST - Last Modified: Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 11:25am EST

Some airlines are blocking a new rule that would require them to include all government taxes and fees in airfare prices.

Michael Clinton
Web Producer - Jacksonville Business Journal
Southwest Airlines***** ***** , Spirit Airlines***** ***** and Allegiant***** ***** are asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to block a new U.S. Department of Transportation rule that will go into effect Jan. 24, the New York Times reports.
The new rule requires any advertised price for air travel to include all government taxes and fees.
Previously, airlines and travel agencies could list the fees separately, meaning travelers sometimes missed the fine print disclaimers about charges that often added 20 percent or more to the ticket price.
The airlines requesting the block are saying the new rule violates commercial free speech rights.
Southwest is the busiest carrier at Jacksonville International Airport, flying 30 percent of passenger traffic in and out of the First Coast in October.

Exactly why this rule is needed. Airlines depending on deception.

Regulations? Pffft. So what if they force the airline to fix a plane before it flies or limit the amount of hours you can fly.

How are our companies supposed to make a buck if they can't do it through obfuscation? It ain't 'Merican!

ORD-MCO $9 (just add $250 S&H and receive a free tote bag! Just add $100 S&H)
