Good thing that crew doesn't report to me.

Why, what would you have done to them?? Handed them ice picks and have them jump out of the widow and dig the plane out. Or maybe have them blow the slides and have the folks walk a few hunderd yards on the frozen tarmac to the gate...WOW watch the lawsuits really fly then...

Lets see...how do you propose we get those folks back to the gate? Like everything else on this forum we have SOME useless a&*holes just spouting useless stuff because they hide behind the cover of a screen name...

JB ops screwed up royally thats true...but blame the crew...for what?? They had no support from anyone in operations and believe me they would of come back if they could....Every gate was occupied by the other aircraft that could not move because of the storm and then when everything froze over it was completely unsafe to get anything out to them to get them to move..They even tried to get to the Int'l Arrivals Bldg(T4)....but those gates were full.....Did you know that they had both engines running and even with 70% they could not even get the plane to move. Somehow in there I do believe the plane was frozen to the ground along with all the other equipment......Now about the hot and stuffy cabins...Lets see....did anyone wonder if the APU crapped out....Well thats exactly what happened....On the day you really need it most it crapped out on them for a while...

So in a nutshell....Operations gave no support....Airplane frozen to the ground and an APU that decides to crap out...no gates anywhere on the airport....Runways and taxiways frozen over....

Fault lies much higher up than the pilots my friend......JB should of pro-actively cancelled flights starting the day before so as to minimize the impact of all this...

This is an emotionally charged thread and I hesitate to contribute, but here goes......

I agree fault lies much higher than the pilots.

Those that could get those passengers to safety failed to do the job right. Looks like the Captains were forced into the situation before they could keep themselves out of it.

Airport Authorities and Managements should be held responsible. They could have gotten busses out to you but they put their heades up their behinds. Get ready for more restrictive bad weather rules.

Some of the animosity is a little over the top. But to a certain extent the JB boys brought it on themselves. They have historically loved to jump in and talk about how great their management/ company is, when it is really no better than any other airline. They are just now starting to realize that. I really felt that after the 14th time we sang "I'd like to teach the world to sing", we could have at least have done "We are the world" at least once.

This very scenario was brought up by Bill O'Reilly to Judge Napolitano. The judge told Bill O that anyone that does that faces 20 years in jail due to the Patriot Act and laws made to protect airplanes and crews and unauthorized entrance onto airport property.

One interesting thing to note that I discovered this past weekend. My Co-Capt. happened to meet a Port Authority employee down in FL this last weekend. He was saying that the Port Authority had an operations meeting with reps from all of the JFK airlines to discuss the winter ops., emergency planning, etc. and one of the few (if not only) airlines that were NOT in attendance was JetBlue.

I must admit my comments were a bit harsh but your all high and mighty views and comments that you are so superior to an Eagle RJ Captain sitting from your E190 (RJ) pissed me off. I was quite intoxicated so I apologize. But I certainly do not apologize to the fact that you are an IDIOT and to belittle other pilots just because you think your sh*t doesn't stink at Jet Blue is truly nauseating.

Your "I fly for fun" attitude and your warped delusions of grandeur are certainly a detriment to our profession since trying to make a living at it is not important to you. Give up the hobby or try to be a part of the solution and not part of the problem.
