Any of you who interviewed between th 6th and 8th of this month heard anything yet? Longer wait better or worse news?

I interviewed and was told by HR that the interview went very well. 3 weeks went by, and I never heard anything. I made a phone call, and found out that I was hired and scheduled for class in 4 days. They've had some HR issues, give them a call.

Other than that it seems like everyone was very professional. Good company.
 
I know there will be another class starting on the 22nd. From what I gathered at orientation the other day, things will be slow in MSP after that for a short time due to the RNC being held there. I think interviews will even be held in Chantilly in the mean time.
 
How many more E175s will be delivered in 08 and 09? What are people being told about potential upgrade times? I hear the E175 is a pretty nice ride (sure beats my tired E145 - I'd love to trade it in).

The 36th and final airplane will be delivered sometime in 2008.

None are planned after that and the scope in the new DAL+NWA contract is currently maxed out. The only way Compass could get more flying after airplane #36 arrives is to:
1) Get flying that another operator lost
2) Bid and be awarded new flying for another airline (i.e. Alaska, United)

Someone being hired today would be gaining seniority solely from attrition assuming the fleet does not grow.

If the fleet does not grow at all, and flowback nor flowthrough do not happen, I'd estimate someone interviewing at Compass this week will upgrade no sooner than 2012.

Doesn't sound that appealing to me. With that said, being furloughed by a major/national/regional airline tends to not leave many options in this economy. I guess if you are going to wait for recall or other options, sitting in an E175 for awhile wouldn't be too bad (as long as you could afford the pay). You could do a lot worse.

That's my situation. Sit around furloughed for who knows how long, or have a number on a seniority list somewhere, and more importantly HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE for my family.

Hopefully there will be a little movement if things pick up industry wide in a year or two. If not, oh well. I'm still better off than being on the street.

One thing I have learned about predictions in my almost 18 years in the airline industry-they are usually wrong. So I'll just wait and see how this turns out. Good luck to everyone out there, we're all gonna' need it.

You going to bypass your flow through to this? Cross tuning radials for step down fixes is fun, fun, fun!

Grass always greener on the other side, especially when it's a shiny new bigger regional jet. How long in it before you start beotching about that E170?

Can't ever let an opportunity for a cheap shot go, can you? I, for one, haven't had any problem calculating my crossing restrictions on the -9. As a matter of fact, I'm quite comfortable working the turn knob, the vertical speed wheel, and the manual throttles while I fret away about how the USA Today crossword puzzles have gotten harder (used to be I was a lock until Thursday's puzzle. Now, sometimes Wednesday gives me fits...)

What's the matter? Scared to fly for a living, mister former ATR Captain???? Last time I checked, my -9 still payed a mainline wage, unlike the "mini-bus"....

By the way, unless Embraer had a bunch of 15 year old engineers working on the 135/145, your timeline is severely messed up. Far be it for you to let facts stand in the way of your hyperbole though.........

(Speaking of hyperbole.... you never did answer the question about whether or not you where in PHL when you decided to bash the NWA FA riding on your hotel van without having all the facts, did you? Reminds me of another baseless FI thread.... you know, the one about the XJT crew and the ASA pilot and thrown coffee...... Anyhow, I digress.....)

It is a very nice ride. I think you will enjoy it, compared to the CRJ.

I do like the "old cessna looking" nav radios. Who says the romance of airline flying is gone?

And by the way. . .the same goes for the sudoku puzzle. I can't stick it on Fridays.
