Quick question for you folks in New York...

What's the best way to get from JFK to LGA and back again?

Thanks in advance...

-LP-

I take the Cross-Island and follow the signs from there.

Ex-Dojet guy myself.

6:30 am-9:30 am or 3pm -7pm Rush hour - helicopter would be nice or take the Cross Island Parkway

All other times the Van Wick is the most direct route

The 101 is the Indy 500 and the Beltway around DC is the Daytona 500 compared to trying to get from LGA to JFK at 5pm on a Friday.

New York Airport service bus. $13 each way or you can go to their headquarters at Grand Central Station and buy a book of 20 tickets for I believe $6/ticket.

Yellow cabs run from $25-30. One wet morning with traffic ran me $49.

Kew Gardens Car Service is $18.50

Q-Runner Van is approx. $11.

Or you can take the Q-33 to Roosevelt Station to catch the E-train to Jamaica Station and then take the Airtrain to JFK. Cost $7. Takes about 60-90 minutes.

Thanks everyone...what a great resource you all have been. I think that New York Airport service bus is the ticket. I'm just a kid from Idaho heading out to the big apple...hopefully I can figure it all out.

Thanks again.

You can get a book of 20 discount tickets on the NY Airporter for $6 a pop. You get the book by showing your airline ID at the main office at their office near Port Authority.

Everyone left out the Airtrain.

If you are commuting from LGA during rush hour take a cab or a bus to Jamaica station and get the Airtran. It's faster then trying to commute the entire distance by bus or cab. I believe that the cabs have a flat rate for rides from LGA to the train station.

If you are commuting to LGA, just get on the AIrtrain at JFK and look out over all the traffic on the Belt pkwy and the Van Wick. Then get a cap at Jamaica station.
