One of the hallmarks of great leadership is the ability to deviate from the will of the uneducated masses when they are running full steam towards the edge of the cliff.
...............Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot
You forgot to attribute the quote; I fixed it for you.

My only regret is that I'm not present to see the look on Gary W's face, now that all these lowly people junior to him are "f---ing up his company."

Ahh, I have always heard of that infamous quote of the 2003 campaign (the vote occured after I upgraded) but I never knew who it was attributed to.

Ah, there it is: comparing ALPA to Hitler and Stalin. Always keeping it high-brow on FI.

Man, you missed the mark by an incredibly wide margin. My point was that authoritarian notions of doing what's "right" for the idiot masses has led to some of the worst atrocities in human history, all under the guise of "leadership." Those who think they have all the right answers rarely do. My quip was a rhetorical gimmick. You take yourself so seriously, I'm not surprised it escaped you.

I'm completely ambivalent about ALPA. I certainly wasn't comparing ALPA to Hitler or Stalin. That would be absurd.

I think you might be wearing your hat a size too small.

Those who think they have all the right answers rarely do.

This statement certainly reigns true for the poorly read pilots who criticize their leadership on issues they are clueless about.

There is also some merit in applying this comment to people in leadership as well though. Look at Bush's decision to invade Iraq.

WOW 89% bought the ALPA Kool-aid, you learn soon enough. Good luck.

Actually as posted in a my earlier post as follows:

According to PCL-128's other thread,

http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=112860&highlight=commutair

The actual percentage was 90.6% and if you were to subtract the 4 pilots on some sort of leave, a couple of whom have been gone for over a year and most likely didn't get their information to vote or just weren't able to vote, the percentage would go up to 93.8%.

This solidarity just shows how terrible the work rules and pay issues have become at this once respectable regional.

We didn't drink any Kool-Aid; we've been living on peanuts. Think about this, the difference between a large pizza and a CommutAir pilot is that a large pizza can feed a family.

Hopefully with ALPA's representation our pilot group will be able to finally have some enforceable work rules and realize a much needed pay increase.

I'm sorry that ALPA has not been ideal for some but for our pilot group which is way to small for an in-house union we have sought the best alternative. Thanks for your support.
