It's also ironic that pop culture had a hand in bringing down the Iron Curtain, by spreading throughout the Eastern Block and Soviet Union 20 yrs ago. Now, a similar group of impressionable young people, driven by pop culture, are going back to the ideals and items that represent Communism and the previous Eastern Europe (e.g., Note Vlad and his username).

Sad, but it's their right of free expression. Too bad their pop idols didn't/don't support free speech and self determination, but genocide and horrific oppression instead.

Let's not forget how we drove off American manufacturing to the third world by means of mimium wage laws and the EPA.

I guess it's alright to have pollution, "as long as it's not in my backyard."

The better solution would have been to trust the free market, and use common sense when writing laws that affect our jobs. Of course, when you are a university professor or a politician, your job won't leave when manufacturing is driven off to Maylaysia.
