Never. Of course, I'll make the exception for certain people.

Sorry I've been away folks--new hire school and all.
Welcome back; we've missed you. Be sure to tell us what you learned in your new hire school so that we can all drool with envy.

Are you anal enough to think that Delta won't have a controlling interest to whomever they spin you guys off? Think again smart guy. That's why they bought us in the first place, to control whom we fed and when. If and when they spin you guys off now, do you think they honestly will give up who and what you fly for whom?
I'm not smart enough to know just how "the deal" would be structured but I'm sure that you are so why don't you give us the benefit of the wisdom and clue us all in as to how it will work?

I've been wondering -- what exactly are you "concerned" about former regional pilot? While you're at it, why don't you tell us all about your new gig and how wonderful it is to have entered the real world? People like me are really interested.

From a reliable source:

After this EMB-190 spinoff is complete, the fleet plan calls for even larger aircraft. Used 757's, and 767's will be used for transcon flights. 777's are going to be used to initiate interntional service. Intially, the 190's will be heavily staffed by scabs and Embry-Riddle interns who have successfully completed the CAPT program. There will be one pay scale, so as to cut down on training expenses. Top captain pay for all aircraft will be $62/hr and junior FO pay will be $16/hr, averaging to $22/hr after 7 years of service. Matching 401K and a little health insurance will be offered for a nominal fee. Guarantee will be 55 hrs/month.

Although there will be some hiring off of the street, the majority of the recruiting will come from ERAU with the lure, I mean the opportunity to offer these fine young students the opportunity to become airline pilots right out of school with just the right attitude management is looking for. These "cadets" have a great "I just want to be an airline pilot at any cost" attitude.

An in-house union has already been established and voted on, so it's ready to go right out of the box. The union officers positions are staffed by experienced Eastern scabs, I mean former airline personnel with much experience, and the contract calls for them to be in this position for at least 20 years.

Again, this is just a rumor.

Is that a hint of sarcasm there?? No matter, you will not ruin my mood. It is just that good.

Try the quote thing here. Such changes since I've been away. All I did was pose a question. IMO, Delta purchased Comair and ASA so that nobody could take their feeders and leave Delta without. Do you really think that Delta will chance that happening again. In other words, whatever deal Delta may strike, they will undoubtedly control what, where, and when Comair and ASA fly. Just makes sense, unlike what your theory does. Doesn't really matter to me from a professional standpoint anymore.

Do I detect that sarcasm again?? Rascal. As I said, your bitter old self cannot remove the permanately affixed smile from my face. Enjoy your misery

Scope,

Don't let Surplus get to you, he's just a grumpy old commuter lifer!
Vabb,
I've been reading your posts for several months wondering why you are SO bitter. Then I saw that you list your experience as Indian Air Force. Now I understand - you we're born into a stratified society where caste (or "jati") is fixed by birth. You - presumably of the "Ksatriya" or warrior caste - simply can't tolerate the "sudra" (servants) of the regional airlines doing what you consider a job to be performed only by members of superior rank.
Eat a steak and then take your bigotry back to India. We don't need it here.

Lolikoka,

You must not forget that the Indian Air Force has many desirable perquisities. Among them are free tickets to tour the Taj Mahal (including transport by rail) and paid bi-annual vacations, one to Bangladesh and the other to Kashmir. They also have a base in the garden spot of Calcutta.

These are all "heady" options that cloud VABB's prespectives. Give him a break.
