I guess the articles about Comair potentially being spun off from Delta are complete fabrications too... Yeah, Continental will never spin off Coex. Mesa would never create a non-union entity. Grow up.JetPilot_Mike said:Seriously folks. There are rumors (Hey, I heard the JFK base is a done deal!), and there is stirring the pot (Hey, Comair is gonna go Freedom Air and say F*ck Delta scope). I hear rumors all day every day, but I don't go running home to my computer posting the silly ones here. I bet the "Comair pilot" who planted this rumor is now having quite the laugh reading the 2 page thread he started through you. Tool.
You weren't talking about spin-offs in your original post. You were talking about an alter-ego Comair (ie. Freedom Air) being used to fly E190 for Delta. But now that you mention a spin off, that is entirely possible. On Your Six said:I guess the articles about Comair potentially being spun off from Delta are complete fabrications too... If and when the Delta pilots "go ballistic", which planet do you expect they'll orbit or will they just continue into outer space?tuna pimp said:My feeling is just that Delta pilots would go ballistic if DL mgmt tried to back door 90 seaters into the Delta network. It would never fly.
Why would the 190's have to be operated "for Delta". How about operating them for Comair or for someone else?JetPilot_Mike said:It is impossible, no matter what certificate you operate under, to fly E190's for Delta. Heck, ACA/FlyI lost their 32-seat flying when they got their A319's.
Who cares what "DALPA' wants? What are they going to do, strike? Can you see DALPA going along with an alter-ego Comair flying the very planes they want, the E190/195? It would be a cold day in hell....
Again. I am responding to the original statement/post by Six. Please reread his first post where he clearly states - to POSSIBLY fly E190s for Deltasurplus1 said:Why would the 190's have to be operated "for Delta". How about operating them for Comair or for someone else?
Great points. Don't blame Delta for Comair's future pay cuts - blame JetBlue and their new E190 rates - more seats and yet lower pay...General Lee said:Surplus1,
You too live in a fantasy world. We still have limits to what management can and cannot do without negotiations, and you still are over paid when compared to your peers. I am not advocating a pay cut for you, but with the new Jetblue Emb190 rates looming (when they get their new planes in 2005), you will be hard pressed to keep what you have, especailly with 70 seats versus their 100 seats. Their pay rates are your hurdle. Can't blame everything on Dalpa, you should look towards Jetblue. And, if you think you can just find new work out there without some competitive cuts (from Randy), you are on dope. Just like our pay and benefits came down, so will yours. Sad but true.

Don't look now smart guy, but in case you haven't been keeping up with current events Your buds over at UAL just made you "over paid" by about 25 %. Sad but true!General Lee said:Surplus1,

I didn't miss that Mike, now don't you miss the fact that after a spin off, Delta won't be the only game in town. That was my point. The world does not revolve around those who live in ATL, even though they think it does.JetPilot_Mike said:Again. I am responding to the original statement/post by Six. Sorry I've been away folks--new hire school and all. Are you anal enough to think that Delta won't have a controlling interest to whomever they spin you guys off? Think again smart guy. That's why they bought us in the first place, to control whom we fed and when. If and when they spin you guys off now, do you think they honestly will give up who and what you fly for whom?surplus1 said:I didn't miss that Mike, now don't you miss the fact that after a spin off, Delta won't be the only game in town.
