Comair Hiring?

Comair Airlines is once again scheduling interviews and will be hiring 18 First Officers in April 2006. They are asking all previous applicants that still have interest in employment with Comair, to update their application on Airline Apps. Please be sure all information is up to date and accurate. Also, please be sure the Comair addendum is filled out completely. Comair will be emailing invite letters this week and would like to have the most current information.

Have they already recalled all the furloughs?

All furloughs have been offered recall. Unfortunately that note is a little out of date, as the company has since cancelled the new hire class, citing a reduction in block hours this summer compared with what Delta was estimating for us. In my opinion though, attrition is high enough that we will need to be hiring soon. A vacancy bid just came out today for 11 captain positions, and the secondary bid may require new hires.

1 in 2 furloughs actually came back and the bid packets show an average of 10-15 leaving per month lately.
