Well, shucks--I guess someone has to pay for mainline salaries, retirement, and perks all the while they bleed cash. Really we should do this job for nothing to keep mainline afloat.

Concessions at Comair are fuc.king ABSURD

Reminds me of a story I once heard of an ALPA solicitation during the Eastern Airlines strike when regional pilots were ask to contribute to a strike fund.

The strike fund proposed would have provided the mainline pilots on strike with more income than the regional Captains flying the line.

It makes me wonder how long the regional pilots are willing to contribute (paying dues) to representation by a national union with some pretty obvious conflicts of interest.

Oh, by the way how is their litigation going?

Hey Ace,

The days of hiring nothing but Academy grads is over. Most new hires have previous airline experience. I have 3.5 years of previous airline experience and I can tell you that I would definitely vote no.

No furlough clause good luck with that one. Offically we have one two. Only the last 60 of us could be furloughed according to the contract. That said we have 1,260 furloughed illegally. I wouldn't put any weight in a no furlough clause especially with DAL management as the adversary.

This is from a mgt. pilot I was talking to this morning.

Apparently the company wants a pay freeze for the next two scheduled increases june 03 & 04. In exchange there is talk of larger aircraft whatever the hell that means.

Hmm

Let me get this straight they want a pay freeze so they can TALK about larger a/c. I think they first need to explain how they are going to get around scope to acquire those a/c.

I think the whipsawing of ASA has begun. We can't let that happen. You can bet they are dangling that carrot in front of them too. We need to support each other now!

There won't be any "larger" aircraft without Dalpa's stamp of approval. So, with that said, I just want to say that, "I love you all."

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

General Lee

I do not know all the possible outcomes in court, but one of them may well be, that the RJDC lawsuit "could" negate the restrictions you mention. Maybe not likely, but certainly a possiblity.

Even if the RJDC pulls a rabit out of the hat and wins, the appeals would take many more years. Unlikey, though---and if Dalpa and ALPA thought they would lose, they probably would have settled by now. Leo signed the contract.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

It's just now becoming a class action suit representing all Comair and ASA pilots.

98 percent of all class action suits are settled out of court.
Dalpa is not being sued, ALPA national is.
I wouldn't say that ALPA national would've settled by now. They just lost there appeal to send the matter to the national mediation board back on the 26th of August.

The Judge ruled in our favor that their is sufficient evidence to move forward to trial.

The Discovery phase will take place in October.

Back on topic please. There should be a seperate conference for RJDC arguments.

The thread was about the potential for concessions at Comair.

I personally believe that your management will not just pack up and go home after you say "No!".

Airline management usually takes such an opportunity to play THEIR hand which usually has a dramatic impact on junior pilots.
