And they wonder why people are leaving...it because of crap like this.

Let's see...
50 seaters...
Jets in 2 years
preferential treatment to hiring at CAL

how many more lies before the next accident...

Gee, chperplt, did you make a big mistake by leaving Colgan. You no longer have preference at CAL. You'd be at CAL by now if you haven't left for Comair.

Yea, I know it.. I could be sitting in EWR right now enjoying all the funky smells the town has to offer.

On second though... I'll stick with my MD80 gig and not having to commute anymore.

How do you like the 170?

Obviously he loves it or he wouldn't be flying it for next to nothing.

A very wise Colgan mechanic once told me, "Colgan will get jets when Delta is transporting people - StarTrek-style".

That seems about right to me. In about 400 years, I would have the opportunity under the leadership of Mike Colgan XXXIX to bid ERJ-135 Captain in Allentown.

I have heard colgan does have preferred interviews at CAL. I don't believe it though. When you fill out the app and get to the part where you pick from the affiliations colgan doesn't technically apply. They have one for "Continental Express", but that isn't colgan. We are continental connection. I interpret that as 2 different things. Commutair is connection also, not express. I could be wrong. They also had ERAU grad, ATA furlough, i think WIA, and some others.

Well, if we got one hired there must be preferential something, unless he/she knew somebody high up over there. There are a billion other apps from companies with preferred hiring so...

It's actually true. It is written in the CO pilot's contract that Express and Connection carriers are to have preferential hiring. That would be Express Jet, Commute Air, Gulfstream, and COLGAN.

No thanks... I don't have a desire to ever commute again and I'm not moving. You can take that interview.

Ehhh....read your post then reread his reply....he wasn't even referring to you. You seem awfully defensive about that MD80 pay of yours.

Ehhh... What the heck are you talking about??

Who needs to be defensive. It is what it is.... I have a high 6 figure combined income with my wife. I have all the toys I want and I sleep in my own bed every night. Nothing to be defensive about.

True..but that would be after XJT Preferential Interview Group goes over to Cal, which is taking a long time.
